A.fun place to be. The staff was very good, steak frites was great and the restaurant attracts an eclectic face of LA.

I went here for a birthday lunch with my friends and I was so embarrassed by the terrible service I had received. Our server looked so confused the whole time as we ordered as if she didn’t even know the menu. She also never went up to our table on her own, not ONCE, unless we signaled her to come to our table. The food and ambiance was good, but service was just terrible and made the whole time not worth it. I was there for almost 3 hours, unnecessarily, just because no one was coming to us when we wanted to order. We even had to go to the hostess to ask to pay. When I wanted to order dessert for my birthday, it took them almost 30 minutes to bring out an Apple Tarte. The candle on the dessert wasn’t even lit and the waiter told me “here sorry” because we waited so long. Terrible service.

The worst service I’ve ever had. The only time we saw our waitress was when she took our order and when we had to flag her down for our check. We tried ordering two different things on the menu and they said they didn’t have it anymore. The second time, the (who I assume to be) manager came 20 minutes or so after we ordered and told us we had to choose something else. The food was alright, the fries and affogato were delicious. We never got refills on our waters. Also, for the affogato, we had to order from the bartender because we couldn’t get our waitress’ attention. The bartender was kind and attentive, he was great. After paying, the manager hovered over us when we were (whisper) discussing what to do for a tip. It felt extremely pushy. The bathrooms were messy, and be careful when you sit by the bar because the high chairs are extremely uncomfortable. Perhaps we got unlucky, but the horrible service dissuaded us from ever coming back.

Overall, an truly wonderful experience for our party of 6. The setting was terrific - we sat on the patio, by the fireplace, under the lights, and across from the illuminated Pacific Design Center. (There's also a very cozy room inside with a plush and very comfy looking banquette.) The food was outstanding - a varied menu with lots of vegetarian options and unusual dishes. Between us we had the coq au vin, moules frites, chickpea curry, tuna tartine, spinach lasagna, and vegetarian lasagna, along with extra frites, a charcuterie board, and rice cakes. Each dish was mouthwatering and delicious. Then came flourless chocolate cake, cherry tarts, fudge brownie, and - la piece de resistance - chocolate mousse. Yummmmm! Our meal was accompanied by a nice variety of wine, beer, and even French tea. (Note there is NOT a full bar.) But the best part of the evening was our server Berek (like Derek, but better) who was charming, attentive, helpful, funny, and just delightful. Every request and question was answered with a smile, and we never felt hurried. The only small detraction: the dish delivery was erratic / not synchronized, so some of us were eating apps / entrees / desserts while others waited. And we felt $9 for a bottle of Evian or Pellegrino was a bit much. But all in all it was a fantastic evening and we will be back soon asking for Berek's table.

Great casual atmosphere. Good food choice & excellent service. Slightly expensive but maybe just comparison with similar in UK.

It’s a lovely restaurant. The service is completely indifferent at best and hostile at worst. If the energy of the staff matched the energy of the venue, it would’ve been a much better experience. It took way too much effort to get what we needed for our meal from utensils for our salads to honey for the tea at the end of the meal. One of the women servers looked really inconvenienced when we asked if honey was available for the tea. She actually slammed it down on the table when she returned with it.
