Le Zin American Bistro est une tentative de moderniser et d'américaniser le concept traditionnel du bistrot français. Grâce au Zin, qui a récemment remporté le prix Best of Palm Springs et un article élogieux, dans lequel l'auteur de la Palm Springs Dining Bible, Peter Osbaldeston, déclare qu'il s'agit « très certainement du meilleur rapport qualité-prix dans la vallée de Coachella », le chef Nicolas Klontz et le directeur des vins Mindy Reed ont réhaussé le niveau des repas gastronomiques décontractés à Palm Springs. Le Zin propose plus de 450 vins sur carte et a remporté le prix d'excellence Wine Spectator pendant 9 ans. Proposant au choix le burger de bœuf Kobe (16 USD), les moules-frites (21 USD), le lapin (28 USD) ou le steak Prime Hanger (29 USD), il y en a pour tous les goûts. Assurez-vous de garder de la place pour certains desserts faits maison et un verre de porto, pour une finition parfaite. Le service attentif, discret et sympathique est mené notamment par le directeur des vins Reed ou le sommelier Gene, disponibles pour vous aider à faire votre choix dans la carte des vins soigneusement sélectionnés et de cocktails artisanaux, créés la nuit par le gérant du bar Joshua VaNess.

    The drinks were great; of course, we were there for brunch on the last day before the close of summer. There were no oysters, but the drinks were great, and the fried chicken was on point.

    I enjoy happy hour at Zin; nice specialty drinks and nice selection of items on the menu. The service, when not overly busy, is fantastic! I went with a friend and we both had a specialty drink, they had the sliders and I had the special of the day from the restaurant menu. I did not inquire to the price and was quite surprised it was $39 (fish with deep fried potatoes and vegetables) when I got the bill. Compared to other items, this was a bit high.

    Service was excellent and food was very tasty. We were enticed by the prix fixe offering. It was also happy hour. One in our party ordered the prix fixe, one ordered the chicken sandwich from the happy hour menu with a side of fries (tons of food) and one ordered the short rib paparadelle (also a generous portion). A bit disappointed with the wine by glass offerings/price point. It was pretty slow even with village fest, but it was a very hot July night. Other than that enjoyed our dining experience and would recommend.

    I enjoyed the 3 course prix fix menu starting with the Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Beets, Grilled Salmon done medium rare (the way I ordered it) with Orzo on a bed of Asperagus with Creamed Spinach and finishing with Chocolate Mousse. Every mouthful was a delight!

    Always good food with an exceptional service staff. Staff remembers previous visits and makes every effort to make you feel like welcomed old customer.

    The lunch special of chilled melon gazbacho and arugula burrata salad plus a chicken parm salad were very good, the room was small and cool. Our server was attentive and sweet. It was a busy holiday weekend, and the street traffic could be heard even with the doors closed which is a problem for all restaurants in downtown, I'm sure. Maybe one day they'll close off the street! I will recommend and return!

    The food was excellent, the service was great, but the noise level was annoying. It was extremely hot and we were forced to eat inside the small restaurant and not outside where it would have been an even better experience.
