De la cuisine jusqu'au bar, tout ce qui vous est servi au Wood Chicago provient de leur passion à explorer des combinaisons uniques de saveur. Le Wood, c'est beaucoup plus qu'un nom! Le four à bois du restaurant est au cœur de tout ce qu'ils ont à offrir. Le menu vous propose une cuisine américaine composée de plusieurs petites assiettes à partager et toujours conçues avec les meilleurs ingrédients de la saison. Bien que les plats changent régulièrement, quelques éléments restent toujours les mêmes : la viande est dépecée sur place à partir d'animaux élevés avec beaucoup d'humanité, les légumes sont issus de fermes familiales locales et toutes les pâtes et saucisses sont fraîchement préparées, directement dans la cuisine du Wood.

    We started with Turkish Style Lahmajoun Flatbread which was very good and a little on the spicy side. Our mains were: Wild Caught Halibut & Shrimp which was very tasty and Slagel Farm Short Rib. It is not the typical tender fatty dish you would expect. Since it was smoked it was much leaner . I would have preferred a softer cut of meat overall . It was s a solid menu, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Superb service #saisson The restaurant's name, "Wood", is an homage to Owner Franco Gianni’s father, who was a woodworker for more than 50 years. His family still runs a Chicago-area woodworking factory to this day. Wood’s interiors feature hand-torched cedar wall paneling with elevated touches throughout. With Executive Chef Devin Kreller (Bellemore, Sixteen, North Pond) at the helm, our kitchen presents seasonably inspired shareable plates focusing on local farm produce, house-butchered meats, house-made pastas, charcuterie and flatbreads from the wood-fired oven. Chef Kreller's timeless French-dominated cooking techniques combine with peak-season produce and responsibly raised meats from small, family-owned farms to set a road map for the constantly innovative and modern menu.

    The waitstaff were all extremely nice, it just took a very long time to get our food. Otherwise, great experience.

    A disappointment. I've been coming here since before it was Wood, and the new ownership is making me not want to return. Front of house staff used to be a delight, now they're cold and unwelcoming. Menu favorites have disappeared or changed (and not for the better). Finally, the 4% "processing fee" for using a credit card is BS and insulting to patrons. Don't pass that on to us - it's pure greed.

    The food is fine, seems like the kitchen is disorganized. The espresso martini has too much sugar in it. It’s 4/5 overall. Our waiter didn’t seem interested in paying attention to us.

    Outstanding food and service! The food was innovative and delicious. Service was attentive but not overbearing. We will definitely be returning.

    Great food! My group was so happy and they are a challenging crowd. Had to wait quite a while for food, but worth it.

    Great food, super professional and friendly staff. We lived in the neighborhood and ate at Wood monthly. Since Covid we relocated out of state and returned recently. One of the first restaurants we visited is Wood. Great to be back and appreciate another awesome meal. My wife enjoyed some tasty red wine from Cote Du Rhône and a wonderful salad and delicious chicken breast dish. I had a tasty Manhattan followed by the Spring Salad and Rigatoni with a beef shank Ragu. Yum! We finished our meal with a couple more cocktails and a deconstructed carrot cake with ice cream.

    The staff is great, from being greeted at the door, to our fantastic server, Scott, who made us feel very welcomed and knows the menu, to Fausto, who never leaves us wanting for fresh silverware or water, etc. Linda, at the bar, still makes one of the best martinis in town. The food, per usual was fantastic. We are happy to report that the new ownership has maintained the kitchen and front of house quality. In fact, they seemed to have improved it. Slightly less wait time between courses, and more items added to the menu, which Wood always keeps fresh & exciting. It was my second visit of the week. So clearly, I am very happy to be there. Best dinner in the neighborhood, Once they reupholster the booths, it will be perfect. Also, last night the dining room was a little cold. I noticed that most of the guests kept their coats on. Love Wood and most pleased by the new ownership group. They clearly intend to keep the quality up and that is a wonderful thing.
