A San Francisco Chronicle Bay Area Top 100 Restaurant for four years, Willi’s Wine Bar’s captures the casual, laid-back nature of Sonoma County Wine Country. Tourists and locals feel equally at home enjoying a quick bite or lingering over a glass of wine. The menu at Willi’s features international small plates, some wildly inventive and others comfortingly familiar. Staff is eager to help create perfect pairings with wines from the extensive wine list, many by local producers. Most wines are available in two-ounce tastes as well as by the glass or bottle.

The Moroccan lamb chops were the best lamb chops I’ve ever had anywhere! Our friendly server was smart about wine suggestions. This place is excellent!

The small plate “entrees” were small, as I expected and were right-sized for one person. The vegetable side dishes were very large, enough for four people even though there were only two of us. So it might take several visits to learn how to proportion the overall meal size. The desserts were large and delicious. The service was very good. I thought I would beat the crowd with an early reservation but the restaurant was already very busy when we arrived. It didn’t matter, the service was speedy throughout the evening. I am looking forward to returning and trying more items on the interesting menu.

What a great experience. So many outstanding food choices, I could get lost in that menu and I will be coming back to try other items. Good quality food, unusual tastes for the adventurous tongue, lovely atmosphere in quiet neighborhood, and very thoughtful service.

Unfortunately, after getting recommendations to try this restaurant, it was disappointing overall. We had advised the restaurant that we were celebrating our anniversary when we made a reservation and nothing was noted. Our server, who was good and brought us each glasses of champagne after we told her we were disappointed that nobody at the restaurant recognized this. The noise level was quite high and nothing about the food was terrible, but nothing stood out.

Great food! We shared the crab tacos, spinach salad and bread with olive tapenade. Everything was delicious! Service was excellent too! We will be going back.

Great place to share small plates of great food with friends. Popular fun place to spend time with or entertain friends. My wife and I rate Willie's as our favorite restaurant.

We ordered entirely too much food but everything was delicious. The Goat Cheese Fritters as well as the Butternut Squash Soup with the Grilled Cheese sandwiches were probably my favorite. I’d also go back just to have the Arugula and Endive Salad for lunch. Only slight complaint I have was it was really loud-just people having a good time but I enjoy a quieter setting so I can talk with my partner.

Everything about our dinner was excellent except the pork belly potstickers they can use some work. Our waiter was AWESOME!!

Food and service were outstanding. It was NYE so the crowd/people waiting was predictably chaotic. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and were told there were people at our table (high top by the bar) who were having a drink and we could wait for them to finish or take the open table by the front door. There was nowhere to wait, the bar was full, so we took the open table. My thought was why did you allow people to sit and have drinks at a table set for dinner that has a reservation coming? The table by the front door was predictably noisy/cold/windy as large parties came in and held the front door open while they checked in and then stood around us looking uncomfortable. The two ladies we would have waited for took another 30 minutes, so we were glad we didn’t wait for them to leave. Overall a positive dining experience, but we were hoping for exceptional.
