Everything was great. I wasn’t a fan of the halibut and only tasted a small piece and it would have been good if the waiter offered me a comp on the meal or offered something else. I would have liked something else.

Perhaps this is a weekday/business lunch kind of place only but our experience did not match up to the reviews at all. We had 7pm reservations for Saturday and there were only 3 or so tables in there. Right off the bat we were concerned but saw a sign about remodeling so we thought maybe they recently remodeled but after asking our server he said no, some part of the building had been remodeled but not them. Our server was really nice and the reviews were good, so we stayed. 2 of us got shrimp and grits and one got fried chicken…they all came out VERY quickly, as in less than 10 minutes 2 out of 3 dishes were served lukewarm. Mine was less than lukewarm so I sent it back - when it came out it was good but it should’ve been that way from the start. No manager came by to check on us either. Our server is the only reason for the 3rd start- otherwise this would’ve been 2 star experience.

This was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. From food quality to taste. I don’t know how they have so many good reviews. Service was depressing. $100 per person for a Monday night dinner and leaving unsatisfied is just unacceptable.

This restaurant was highly recommended. We had a party of 9 and make a reservation well in advance. We were seated in a back room where there was another large party of over 15 that was very loud, so that did diminish our experience overall. The drinks and appetizers were wonderful (charcuterie, pork belly), and most of our entrees were good (the halibut was overdone on 2 of the plates, some of the food was lukewarm). The staff told us the restauruant was much busier than expected so service was a bit slow. I would probably try it again but with a smaller party and hopefully better staffing.

Hopefully this was an “off” night. Totally understaffed. We actually tipped a runner/bus boy because he waited on us more than the waiter who we never saw. It took a long time to order- over 20 minutes before someone came to our table. We had to go ask for more wine. We had to ask if we could order dessert…. We had to go find someone to get our check! The manager looked totally frazzled and literally ill, like she wasn’t feeling well.

They were overwhelmed for a convention and still managed to deliver a great dinner. My waiter was awesome and made suggestions when small plates I picked were not available.

Unfortunately the experience at White Oak was highly disappointing - beginning with the greeting (or lack thereof) when we arrived. The host was not hospitable (it was as if our reservation was an imposition) and it went downhill from there. Service was slow (e.g., no water refills) and multiple items on the menu were sold out which we found out little by little - the server returned to our table multiple times to tell us we would have to change yet another entree order due to lack of supply. One of our appetizers never arrived, and then last call happened at 9PM without anyone telling us, so we couldn't place an order of drinks. On top of that, the food was mediocre at best.

Wonderful experience. Food and service were outstanding. The environment was well lit and open giving a relaxed atmosphere. Went there two nights in a row due to quality, value, and experience. I wholeheartedly recommend!
