The menu was fantastic We were a party of 4 and everyone really enjoyed every part of their meal. The service was excellent as well .

Food has declined a bit. The lobster and shrimp fra diavolo was bland. Prices skyrocketed. Bread rolls were very heavy. Server did not pour our wine or sparkling water. Not just at all.

We had a very uncomfortable dining experience. The restaurant was very warm, most of our party of 8 were sweating. Our waitress was good and very nice, but appeared to be the only server for all of the tables. As such, Service was slow. We waited a very long time for our entrées. Some of the food was good. However, my husband could not eat his lamb chops, he said they were too fatty. I did not enjoy the peach salad. The peaches were hard and the salad dressing did not taste good. On a positive note, my friend said her tomato salad was delicious and thought her lamb chops were very good. Overall, it was a not an enjoyable experience.

Elegant setting in a historic hotel with a menu that oozes creativity. However, at least last night execution was off as two of our three dinners came out cold and had to be sent back. This is inexcusable in a high end restaurant. Our waitress was quite embarrassed but obviously it was a failure of the back of the house.

We were both somewhat disappointed in our meal celebrating our special anniversary. For those prices we expected better quality and presentation. The food was fine but the whole space looks tired. It’s missing the special touchs one expects from a restaurant charging those exorbitant prices. At Charlie’s at Bay Head, they gave us a hand written anniversary card and happy anniversary was written on the plate of our dessert. There was no acknowledgement of our special day. Not a big deal really but we appreciated the warm welcoming personnel at Charlie’s which was lacking at Whispers. It was embarrassing for us to have to hear the manager berate a nearby waitress who, in our opinion did nothing wrong. And, even if she did why do it within hearing of the guests? ? Our waitress was great. Then as we were leaving, the sprinkler system came on and we had to go through the hotel to get out if we wanted to avoid getting wet.

Always a pleasant and romantic evening at this beautiful Victorian style home/restaurant. Food is always very tasty, and the service is extremely attentive.
