Welcome to our classroom! Waterleaf, located in College of DuPage’s Culinary & Hospitality Center, is a dining experience that offers real-life training to Culinary, Baking & Pastry Arts, and Hospitality students. Patrons will enjoy menus utilizing fresh regional and seasonal ingredients prepared by Culinary & Pastry students as well as attentive service from our student servers.
Limited seating is available at each event and reservations are required. Reservations may be made until an event is sold out. For parties of 6 or more, please call us directly at 630-942-2284.

I went with 3 other people for a Thai themed menu. The food was very good (as always). The service was excellent. They didn't serve any bread with the meal this time, like they usually do. Maybe because Thai restaurants don't serve bread? The one thing our table didn't appreciate was that there were 2 soup courses. We had a salad course, a soup course, a main course, and a dessert course. The main course was described as stewed duck noodle and it was in a broth. We all loved the dessert which was "Coconut Sticky Rice Pudding" It had mango and finely chopped mint on top. I am looking forward to my next visit to Waterleaf.

Service was efficient and polite. The server explained all the courses and the ingredients. I appreciate that they actually made the bone broth in the soups. The decor was subdued and tranquil. My only complaint - i lucked out this time, but generally it is very difficult to make a reservation.

Alex was an excellent waiter. Very attentive, polite, and great server. Food was very tasty.

the service was good except our waitress never told us her name and had no name tag on. The food presentation was excellent- loved the menu except the salad had little dressing or added ingredients except for the blue cheese cracker and watermelon pickle- the salad was mostly frisee, which was not that great. loved the amuse buche, swordfish and dessert-

Waterleaf is a student run operation so a little patience is appreciated but the experience is just so enjoyable. It's a very pleasant and relaxing vibe and the dishes are beautifully plated and the servers are quite attentive. The food is always interesting and fresh and tasty. Waterleaf is a winner!

Spring 2024 Vegetarian menu was fantastic! A couple of minor service hiccups, but that's to be expected at a student-staffed restaurant. I will most definitely be returning!

We had a wonderful “southern-style” lunch at Waterleaf with 2 of our good friends. We all very much enjoyed the experience. Our waitress was sweet and very accommodating throughout our lunch. The food selections were wonderful, even though the crawfish soup was a tad too spicy for my taste. But, everything was great. And, as we have experienced before, the desserts we an extra special treat. We are so very fortunate to have Waterleaf in our local community and know that we can always count on having a wonderful experience while helping the culinary studies students achieve their goals and learn their trade.

What a hidden gem! We went with friends that had never been there and they were amazed by the entire experience. Far more than they expected. Said they didn’t expect it to be so “fancy” and upscale. Everything was perfect!

We knew going in that these are students and service was a little slow. Didn’t matter to us. Food was very good. Was nice to have a three course meal for lunch at a very nice price.
