Construit en 1840, cette ancienne résidence de plantation Cape May est aujourd'hui le célèbre Washington Inn and Wine Bar. La famille Craig a soigneusement préservé la beauté et l'essence de ce trésor si particulier sans apporter d'importantes modifications au lieu original. This might possibly be the best food in Cape May! Just go!! Bacon wrapped dates are just above and beyond. A must do whilst you’re here. Can’t wait to come back again next year. We will start here.

We celebrated our 32nd anniversary and wanted a memorable meal. The Washington Inn checked off all the boxes. Great staff, service, and menu. Highly recommend for any occasion when in Cape May.

My husband and I intended to enjoy a quiet , delicious, meal to celebrate, and it started out to be just that . However just as we received our drinks a couple was seated directly behind us . The couple within minutes of being seated began to argue , the gentleman was loud and his language was vile . This continued the entire meal , making it uncomfortable and certainly affected our meal and dining experience. We quickly ate,and of course did not order dessert , coffee or after dinner drinks . The staff was well aware of the situation., as were the other diners in the room . We were upset with this couple but equally upset with the management of The Washington Inn, as no one tried to descalate the situation . Our food was delious , our experience was horrible and we are disappointed in the staff and management .

Our selections from the early bird menu were very good - very good value for very good food. Our server was very good and very pleasant. Did not know about the early bird menu when we arrived - just went there because of previous experience with the great food.

We were greeted by several hostesses, all very pleasant. We were guided to our table and were then promptly greeted by our server. Service was surprisingly quick. Recognizing that this venue had historic significance, it was a rather plain room with plain furnishings. The food choices were more than ample. They also opted an early dining menus with an optional wine pairing for two of the courses. The food was outstanding. We will be back!!

The Washington Inn is one of our favorite restaurants. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the food is always excellent. I had the Creekstone Ranch Short Rib dinner which was delicious. My husband had the Lamb Cavatellli which I tasted and it was also delicious. I normally don’t like lamb but this dish was so tender and flavorful. Their menu never disappoints.

We were greeted by the delightful hostess and then enjoyed two perfect martinis at the bar before dinner. The crab cakes and filet entrees were both delicious…as was the crème brûlée. A wonderful dining experience!
