V. Mertz offers our guests a progressive, contemporary American menu with an emphasis on seasonal and local ingredients. We offer an award-winning wine list of over 400 selections. The restaurant is located in Omaha’s historic and picturesque Old Market Passageway, within walking distance from the CHI Convention Center, The Holland Performing Arts Center, the Orpheum, and all major downtown hotels.

V. Mertz is locally-owned, and we pride ourselves in offering artisan products and cheeses, organically-grown local produce and Wagyu beef, and sustainably-farmed and line-caught seafood. We believe that dining should be an event, and to this end Chef Jonathan Miller has created a harmony of food and wine, culminating in our extravagant Tasting Menu.

    V. Mertz offers semi-private dining for parties of 10 or less, in an area of the restaurant many guests refer to as “the wine room”. This provides an ideal table for 6-10 guests, where business conversations or private celebrations can be held without interruption from other guests of the restaurant.We are always willing to discuss closure of the entire restaurant for private parties of 20 or more guests.

    Everything was topknotch from start to finish. Our server was great, and the food was wonderful! Would absolutely eat here again!

    Very nice menu. Interesting (in a good way) location. Food was very good. Server was excellent. Price was reasonable. Only suggestion is that time between corses was longer than they seemed as though they should.

    We are regulars at V-Mertz. This visit was for my fiance's birthday. Also, there was a special menu for Staglin Wines. As always the professional at V-Mertz were outstanding. They pair of food and wine yielded a dinner that was equal the best we have add. They made the night special.

    The food was amazing. We had the Chef's five course tasting menu. It is a beautiful setting.

    Wonderful food. Truly an experience. The food is a work of art. It reminds me of a Michelin star restaurant.

    Looking at the menu I was not quite sure I was going to love the food. Many things I did not recognize, and not a lot of options. This was our favorite place 15 years ago but we remembered a less fussy menu. Turned out it was as awesome as ever! Charlie was a great waiter and every bite was filled with interesting and unique flavors without being weird :).
