We went to the View to celebrate our anniversary and while the food was delicious, the service was terrible. We had been sat for 25 minutes and still hadn’t seen a server to even take our drink order. An hour and 10 minutes into our dining experience and we still hadn’t received our appetizer so I expressed my frustration and the manager was good about bringing it out and without hesitation comped our drinks and appetizer. The rest of the evening went smooth. As for the food, my wife had the Lobster pasta and the portion was very generous and she enjoyed the flavor. I had the sesame encrusted ahi tuna and it also was very good. I added the lobster risotto and it was also very tasty. So maybe it was an off night in the kitchen, and I appreciate the managers recognition, but we will be celebrating our anniversary elsewhere moving forward.

The location is beautiful. I would have loved to sit outside, but we were seated inside.We were a party of six that I made reservations probably about two weeks in advance or so. we were seated at a round table, which is nice for a party of six however it was right next to the doorway that leads outside. A LOT of foot traffic between other diners entering and exiting and the staff on what felt like a runway behind my daughter back-and-forth to the kitchen. was quite distracting. Honestly, I would’ve asked for another table, but we were there for my daughter‘s birthday and she was fine with it. I have been there for a party earlier in the year and had a decent experience, but for some reason, all the mixed bar drinks were really bad. as a matter fact I sent my sister-in-law’s Cosmo back to have them remake it. I don’t even know what was in it. it was not drinkable. My husband had a mudslide. It was like YooHoo in a blender, my daughter wanted her boyfriend to try a rocket fuel because he is not from around here, and that was a disappointment as well. Everybody switched from a mixed drink to wine or beer after the first round. The food was OK. Nothing to rave about my brother-in-law ordered the lobster pasta. He did not like his at all. There was another large round table of probably eight in the back corner. It was a 16th birthday party and I was talking to few people from their table. They indicated their experience was extremely disappointing as well. Bottom line: it’s not off my list altogether, but I know when I do go there it’ll just be for wine and appetizers may be a burger. Considering it is a Lessings restaurant I expected much better.

Great menu, great food, great service. A bit pricy, but I guess you can say the quality met the price. Overall we had an excellent experience and we will be back.

We love dining at View! The food is outstanding, and the location overlooking the water is amazing. We will go back, but i must be honest and say the service was extremely slow last night! They had a small wedding reception outside, which we understood, but we were there for 90 minutes before we got any food at all. We then got our appetizer, soups, and entrees all in 30 minutes. They were marginally apologetic, but no one offered to comp anything for us, not even our $6 dinner rolls(4 rolls for a table of 6). My advice to them is if you do not have the kitchen staff to manage a party plus tables, then do not book the tables.

We sat outside with a gorgeous view. Excellent attentive service even though the restaurant was jammed packed full of gold celebrating graduations. Our food was tasty, timely and well presented. Excellent return experience - highly recommend

The View is by far the best waterfront restaurant and bar on the south shore of Long Island. The Lessings just understand how to run a great establishment. The service staff is constantly being trained on how to provide the best customer service and their training is very professional but not stuffy. The food is great, the drinks are great, and the live music is awesome. I am going to make it to The View many times this summer as my wife and I just enjoy every moment that we spend there.
