This restaurant was highly rated, but we were disappointed. When we initially arrived on time for our reservation the lead host ( male with curly hair) was going through some tirade with staff and non reservation customers. He was surly and very non- professional. The net result was all reservations were backed up and not seated for 15-20 minutes. The food was good, not great. The service was very average, certainly not to the level of a fine dining restaurant. Not at all like a top shelf restaurant we were told it we could expect. We will not return.

We had a very positive beginning. Placed our orders and received our drinks. After that, things went horribly wrong. Our appetizer was lukewarm. We sent it back. We received our orders. The sides were not correct and they were lukewarm. We received the correct sides, but again, the sides were lukewarm. Upon the third try, we received the correct sides and they were hot. We asked for the extra sides- the now cold sides to be removed from the table as we ate. We had to ask twice. They remained for most of our meal. On a positive note, the catfish was hot, fresh and well cooked. We were given a substantial discount because of the difficulty. However, we won’t be back. Not even if we’re were offered free meals. It was a disappointment after reading all of the positive reviews.

We went for the Fourth of July and got to sit beside the window and watch the fireworks from above. It was the absolute picture perfect moment, and it was absolutely lovely.

The food was wonderful and the place looked great. Our server was attentive and did a great job with our service. My problem was with the restaurant manager. When booking the reservation I asked for patio seating. It says here on Open Table that patio seating and window seating are first come first served. The manager said they had reservations for all the tables. I said what I read here In Open Table and he did not care or honor what it says here in the app. Will never go back or recommend this restaurant as there are many great restaurants in Savannah.

Vic’s on the River is one of the best meals I have ever had in Savannah. Every staff member that we interacted with was nice, informative and happy! It appears the establishment is definitely based on making their patrons happy. The food was excellent and adjustments were easily done. Highly recommend this restaurant.

It was very yummy! I was only disappointed because I paid $28 for three scallops? I am not sure if it was a mistake or just small portions. It tasted amazing though and I would go back for sure
