We were expecting the food to be better based on the previous reviews. It was definitely not what we expected.

We were looking forward to trying Vic’s after making our reservation a month ago. The website advertises it as High - End so our expectations were high as well. We took the trouble of making the long drive and dressing up only to be seated in a cramped space by an inebriated woman who couldn’t resist the temptation of constantly using her phone with a loud boisterous voice. While the food and service was good, it seems the restaurant is a more of a come as you are food hall rather than an upscale dining experience as self described. We won’t be back.

We had a delightful lunch at Vic's On the River. After two delicous cockails (Blueberry Leom Drop Martini and Pecan Old Fashion), we tried the Crawfish Beignet as an appetizer. What a surprise - not too filling/not too spicy. I ordered the Cheerwine Short Rid - being a fan of Cheerwine. Simply outstanding! My wife ordered the Poach Pear salad whit grilles shrimp - and we both noted the shrimp were outstanding. The decor and history behind Vic's On The River was quite interesting. Definitely a trip back in time but wiht elegance/grace (a great serving staff) /and a surprisingly delightful lunch stop A 5 out of a 5!

Overall the food fantastic. Had short ribs one of the best I've had service great.highly recommend

Food was okay definitely not as good as we were expecting. The Filet and the bbq shrimp appetizer were good. French onion soup was awful. Heavily salted, could not finish it. The fried green tomatoes were okay but not your typical fried green tomatoes. IMO they were overdone with cheese grits, goat cheese and balsamic glaze. Service was fine nothing remarkable.

Started with the lump crab cake, it was light and flavourful, the warm biscuits were insanely good. My wife scallops were perfectly done, gently seared, the center sweet and tender. Being from the east coast of Canada I can tell good seafood and these scallops were on point! I had the catfish, the batter was crisp yet not thick, the fish was light and flaky, so good!

I’m a Savannah local however travel internationally and domestically , so I’m exposed to many restaurants experiences. Vic’s is my go to restaurant for family celebrations and special occasions.
