Vee Vee in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, is a small, neighborhood restaurant operated by Kristen and Dan Valachovic. The food is best described as creative American, and we feature a well-curated wine and craft beer selection. The vibe is casual, and the menu modest but inventive. As of May 2022, we are open for indoor and outdoor dining in a seasonal patio by reservation or walk-in. We are also happy to offer takeout as well.

We loved the Black Cat at Vee Vee. The food was fabulous, the service perfect and the restaurant is pleasantly quiet. We hope to be back.

A delicious meal! The scallops were the best I’ve ever tasted and the jackfruit empanadas, fried yucca, & birria tacos were delicious. The desserts were to die for: Plantain Buñuelo, Soursop Ice Cream, and Butterscotch Pudding. I’m no chef but even I could tell that the seasonings and flavors of each dish were richly layered and creative. Can’t wait to go back to try the rest of the menu!

Loved the food concepts— wish the flavor profiles were bolder and less bland. The ceviche needed more flavor (lime, salt, spice) and other dishes needed more salt. However, there is potential for greatness!

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent meal at VeeVee. We had yuca con mojo to start. For entrees - the flank steak and the red snapper (which was actually grouper, prepared the same way, as the wait staff informed us in advance). And for dessert, plantain bunuelo. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and delicious. The server was friendly and offered helpful recommendations. The ambience was quiet and comfortable. Felt like a well-kept secret. We will certainly be back!

First visit since the new chef came on board. The food was very good to excellent. Beef empanada was a great appetizer but only 1 for $10 seems off with most diners sharing. Do 2 for $14 or $16 dollars if you can. Street corn was great but three pieces does not work well for 2 people. The bowl can hold for and I’d go with that as you cannot split/snap a piece to share. Still, total homerun with the snapper, it is a sublime dish—one of the best in the city at any price. All of the dishes are made with care and the highest level of ingredients. Putting Vee Vee into the regular weekend rotation for sure.

We have been to VeeVee many times and we always had the best experience. The personnel is very pleasant and efficient, the food is excellent and the location is very quiet and intimate. We can't wait to come back again!

Loved the new menu. The red snapper was exceptional. Outdoor patio was lovely. We will be back!

Superb food and excellent service as always! It was my second time at VeeVee’s since the partnership with Black Catand once again it was outstanding. Just to name a few, the tomato and cucumber salad was delicious and I will probably order this every time I go in the future, and the street corn also delicious. The three of us enjoyed fish tacos, the scallops and the empanada as our entrees. It was perfect outdoor weather for the patio. Also got served a complementary butterscotch pudding for the birthday girl!

I hadn’t been to Vee Vee in years, and was so excited to hear about their partnership with Chef Valentine and Black Cat. I’m a HUGE fan of Top Chef, wanted to go support a local Black cheftestant, and to sample an Afro-Caribbean menu. My partner and I LOVED everything we ordered, from the ceviche to the scallops, it was superb! Ella, our server was great, and took good care of us. And then to top it all off, Chef Valentine visited our table (and let me talk his ear off!) The menu is a welcome addition to the neighborhood, and it was nice to see such a diverse group of guests in JP. The combination of Vee Vee and Black Cat makes for a perfect date night, dinner with friends, or solo dinner at the bar. I hope Chef Valentine stays on. We will definitely go back soon!
