As True Foods account members, we were offered a fixed price fall preview of new menu items including 3 starters, a choice of entree, dessert, and a flight of margaritas. The Chinese chicken salad and hot sliders were outstanding, as was the chicken Parmesan entree. The other three people at our table ordered the beef tenderloin and seemed satisfied, but somewhat envious of the chicken Parmesan. Of the three margaritas I preferred the sweet blood orange margarita, while my partner preferred the spicy pineapple margarita. The pomelo grapefruit margarita lacked flavor. The staff was very attentive and accomodating to special requests. They served non alcoholic margarita flights for two other members at our table as per their special request. They were knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu items.

I had not been to True Food in several years, but past experiences were always very good. My last experience yesterday was a bit disappointing. It was my 1 year old and I dining for lunch. I ordered the strawberry and arugula salad and added shrimp, guacamole and a side of Mac and cheese. I had expected to get the guacamole first but my salad actually came out first and literally 5 mins after I ordered. The arugula was wilted, there was like 3 tiny strawberries and if there was salad dressing on it, you wouldn’t know it. I know arugula is delicate but I also know the difference between arugula freshly added to a plate and one that has been sitting in a fridge overnight. The shrimp were fine, cooked well but were unseasoned. The Mac n cheese was just buttered noodles with cheese on top. I ordered that for my daughter, she enjoyed it and it wasn’t really messy. The guacamole was good but nothing special. Service was eh, took a while for someone to come over and then never saw her again til I asked for the check. It’s a convenient place for a healthier meal, but quality wasn’t really there.

Great menu. The food arrived on time but forgot about my beer. The chicken I’m sure just left the freezer and stoped at the microwave because it was hard, dry and tasteless… The tuna poke was ok. The salads were pretty good. Nice place to have lunch but the food is not amazing, it’s ok and not cheap.

Service was terrible. One server for the entire section. Not cool. Got there at 3:30 when it wasn’t busy but server was overloaded by just the five people in my party. Food was adequate. Their featured item, a chicken wrap, was wrapped in a thick, stale wrap that I could barely bite through. Noodles were mushy in the Mac and cheese. Nothing had much flavor. Guacamole was good but came with 8 chips. Asked for more but they didn’t come until I asked again and the meal was over. Everything was very slow. Was there for two long hours. Won’t be going back.

The new items on the menu are outstanding. Kudos for the chefs!!! Not to say the remainding items are the great ones. A must have is the tuna lettuce tacos as an appetizer

I went to True Food for the first time for Saturday, brunch with friends. We sat outside in the patio section. It was a lovely day and we had a lovely time. The food was excellent. They accommodated our different dietary needs. The waitress was outstanding, and I would recommend the restaurant to anyone who’s looking for a casual, ambient, delicious meal.

This is my second True Food Kitchen experience (first time WA DC) and I continue to love the passion and intention behind True Food. I needed to work in a quiet spot and eat something wonderful. I was thoughtfully seated in a cute little corner (very private surrounded by plants) and proceeded to enjoy Prosecco and a delish turkey burger on a gf bun. Staff was attentive, the gal who served me was wonderful, I loved the magenta stripe in her hair. She was knowledgeable and kind. I will be back!

My dish was the ahi bowl, 25$, and not at all filling. They could have added more veggies maybe or a piece of toast (easy fix) but I am not going to tell the kitchen how to cook a 25$ entree. I needed two mini slices of pizza (from kids entre) to feel satisfied. The dish also came in a large bowl that was only half full which led to the presentation being poor. The kids did not like the peach lemonade or pink lemonade either. Maybe just not a good place for us.
