The offering was presented as a 4th of July Summer Picnic Buffett with traditional summer dishes. Many of the serving dishes being empty or near empty. The kitchen staff seemed overwhelmed and unable to keep up with demand as people stood in line waiting. The food was uninspiring, and didn't live up to expectations for the price ($50/person). The BBQ was bone-in thighs and legs, didn't seem to have come near a BBQ. The brisket was served with baked-beans and appears to have be designed to be mostly beans and little brisket. It seemed to be setup in a way to ensure lower cost to the restaurant. The potatoe salad was watery and the potatoes hard. Desserts were convention-meeting-like in nature and they ran out of some of the advertised desserts. Since the reservation was established as prepaid and they took a preemptive 20% tip on a buffet service, I suppose I should have suspected this would disappoint, as they likely assessed any post meal tip would have been in jeopardy. That said, the reservations should have given the restaurant the information they needed to be prepared and not run out of food. No plan to return

Food was ok, but not great. For people who don’t eat dairy it was hard as all salads had cheese on them

The service was good, but the food did not meet expectations. The prime rib was very fatty and stringy, without much flavor. I enjoyed the shrimp, but most of the other dishes were disappointments. The desserts were tiny and only two types, both were good but was expecting a better selection

Traditions is usually a great place for breakfast with many options, great food and great service. However, the Father's Day brunch buffet we experienced today definitely did not meet our expectations. For the cost of the meal being $50+ per adult , the food variety and quality did not meet the normal standards of Traditions. Much of the food was not adequately warm, dried out, and had been sitting out for an extended period of time. Several of the non-breakfast dishes were overly seasoned with garlic and were extremely unappetizing. On a positive note, our server was friendly and attentive.

Traditions offers consistently high quality dishes in a casually elegant atmosphere. The servers are friendly, considerate, and efficient. You are never made to feel that you are an imposition but instead that they are pleased to help you. The value offered for the price is very good and we ate breakfast here every morning and the brunch on mother's day. The buffet was very well run with food always available and everything offered was well prepared. We look forward to dining at Traditions the next time we come to Williamsburg and stay at the Lodge.

Historically we done at CW for several major events ( Christmas, Easter, etc). These types of events have always been held in the Virginia Room but not this event. This made the whole event very disappointing. There were no information helping customers where to line up or check in ( unlike previous years in the Virginia Room). When a hostess did show up she seemed confused and overwhelmed.
