Located in the heart of beautiful downtown Canmore, Alberta The Wood Restaurant and Lounge offers casual dining with attentive and friendly service. Our menu features Alberta beef steaks, homemade burgers and pasta, BBQ chicken and ribs, a wide selection of sandwiches and salads, and a kids menu featuring mini burgers and kids chicken fingers. We are also open daily for breakfast.

The Wood Restaurant and Lounge is located in the log building at the corner of Main Street and 8th Avenue in Canmore and offers breathtaking views from the best patio in town. The lounge offers 18 draft beers on tap, a wine list featuring 30 wines from 30 vines, our signature cocktail list featuring the green tea zentini, the organic martini, and our famous peach bellini. Eight big screen plasma televisions offer up all the big sporting events. Wireless internet is available throughout, including the 120 seat patio......which offers great views of the local mountains.

My streak was very obviously cooked well done and I asked for a medium rare. The server was lovely she took it back to the chef and he didn’t want to make a new one and brought it back out with no discount. The streak was grey, very tough and had no taste. I’ve never sent back food before but I just had to with that steak. I barely ate it because I hate well done steak so it was just a wait of money.

We’ve been to The Wood a number of times. It has an ambitious menu with underwhelming execution. The food consistently sits somewhere between not bad but not that good. I suspect they stay in business because the location can’t be beat and the patio has a great view. I would suggest drinks on the patio over having a meal here. Our cocktails and service have always been great.

Although fairly loud inside we were able to talk at our table and hear each other most of the time. The food and drinks were good and the staff is friendly. 7.5/10

Wood feature entree of teriyaki salmon was dry. Rice bland, carrots and broccoli boring.

The chicken over the grill was really good however the French fries can use some improvement. They were on the dry side. The bowls had more noodles than veggie, it was a more of a carb overload.

This is a must for anyone stopping by Canmore for the day. On a sunny afternoon, grab a table on their oversized patio. The views are stunning and their team is so great. Personally, the watermelon salad is a summer favorite in our family. Our only complaint is the portions are larger than expected. So don't snack before heading over. We made that mistake! Not one person at our table was able to finish their meal.

Restaurant avec un très beau style en bois. Belle ambiance. Menu diversifié et de très grosse assiette à prix raisonnable

Had a reservation for 8 for dinner. Philip, our waiter was exceptional. All orders can me out as ordered and special requests were all accommodated. Super personality to be dealing with people. Our meals were enjoyed by all. Highly recommend!
