Located in the heart of beautiful downtown Canmore, Alberta The Wood Restaurant and Lounge offers casual dining with attentive and friendly service. Our menu features Alberta beef steaks, homemade burgers and pasta, BBQ chicken and ribs, a wide selection of sandwiches and salads, and a kids menu featuring mini burgers and kids chicken fingers. We are also open daily for breakfast.

The Wood Restaurant and Lounge is located in the log building at the corner of Main Street and 8th Avenue in Canmore and offers breathtaking views from the best patio in town. The lounge offers 18 draft beers on tap, a wine list featuring 30 wines from 30 vines, our signature cocktail list featuring the green tea zentini, the organic martini, and our famous peach bellini. Eight big screen plasma televisions offer up all the big sporting events. Wireless internet is available throughout, including the 120 seat patio......which offers great views of the local mountains.

Amazing patio and friendly pleasant service. Staff were accommodating to give us a table on the patio with a reservation for the lounge. Our server only mentioned specials when asked but was attentive and helpful with choices on the menu. Perfect summer hang out.

Our waitress (she was Australian or from Wisconsin) was efficient and charming. The food was as described and well seasoned. The decor was as you would expect in such a bucolic town. Lovely evening.

Great location and view from the deck, however there was an overwhelming smell of trash. Server was inattentive. Overall wouldn't do it again there are many other choices within easy walk.

We came in with 12 people, and our waitress, Diane, was great at getting us all served. We were surprised at how quickly the food came out. Great service!

We had really been looking forward to this meal while on vacation in Canmore after several days of hiking and climbing. We arrived on time for our reservation and had small glasses of water delivered to our table after we were seated and then waited 25minutes for any further attention from anyone. We were on the verge of leaving to find another place when our orders were finally taken. No acknowledgement of how long we had been waiting. When the food finally came it was just okay. We ordered appetizers and a variety of food from different parts of the menu. Bison burger texture felt processed, poutine gravy just not that good, steak so-so. Those who ordered grilled chicken dishes seemed most satisfied with food. Salads good but nothing special. Yam fries were delicious. Overall, a disappointing experience. Maybe it was just a bad night for them but I wouldn’t make an effort to go back. There are too many other good places to eat in town.

Always a wonderful experience when we visit the wood. The patio I had a beautiful view of the mountains and the service is always good!

Having a reservation did not matter much. We checked in and three groups who were on put on a “waitlist” were seated ahead of our table, all away from the melee’ of the check in desk. When we were seated, that’s where we placed. After ordering appetizers, we were told that these were no longer available. Service was spotty,
