The Winery Restaurant has been an icon among western Colorado restaurants for over 35 years. The restaurant makes its home in a 95 year old building that used to house a horse drawn fire station. A gas lamp lit, grapevine canopied alley frames this romantic location perfectly. The beautifully remodeled building contains flowered stain glass windows, barn wood and bricks.

Steve Thoms acquired the restaurant in late June of 2004 after taking a couple of years off from his previous restaurant. His mission at he Winery is simple: Show the restaurant and its patrons the attention that they deserve. Use only top quality ingredients, and establish The Winery as the premiere restaurant in the Grand Junction area.

The Winery provides a variety of steaks, chicken, pork and fresh seafood specials nightly in an atmosphere that can not be rivaled anywhere!

Service was absolutely phenomenal! Rarely have I encountered such professionalism. Food was scrumptious and beautifully presented.

We were a party of 5 colleagues who had a very long stressful work day. Jackie and Hannah were our waitress and they were fantastic! Jackie had deep knowledge of both food and beverage menus. We order the cheese plate, bisques, salad and steaks along with wine and beers. They were all perfectly prepared. Tha k you for a wonderful and relaxing night.

We always celebrate special events at this restaurant but not going forward after this evening. Tonight we were excited to celebrate our 46th anniversary at our favorite restaurant. Our server has always in the past asked us if we want to hear the specials. Not tonight. We were only asked if we'd been there before and then "are you ready to order"? It took awhile for our server to even come to the table to introduce himself. We always were given the choice on a complimentary dessert for our special occasion. Not this evening. We were told we could have a chocolate molten cake with ice cream. The only thing eatable was the ice cream. The cake tasted like chalk. Yuck. Our dinner entrees were very good as usual but the service was not up to par. So bottom line.....we won't be back

Overall food was very good. I had the Vegetarian Stuff Poblano Pepper. It was VERY salty. It was described as stuffed with rice and beans, but it seemed more liked a bean puree and difficult to distinguish that that was rice in it. The salad special was very good, but I don't think it was worth the very high price. My husband had the steak and potato and though both were very good. Both entrees were served with green beans with almonds. I appreciated that the server alerted the kitchen to the fact that I am a vegetarian and they made mine without bacon. They were very good and that's surprising because I don't generally like green beans. The standout of the night was the creme brule special with apple cider apples. I ate every single bite. Excellent service and ambiance.

Lovely food and great staff. We sat outside as it was a nice evening. The cheeses in the sampler were very nice. My shrimps were delicious.

This was a great recommendation while we were in town. We were able to sit outside and the atmosphere is absolutely lovely in the courtyard. Our server was wonderful and all of the staff were outstanding. The menu options are great and my dinner was excellent. I had the Mixed Grill with Tournedos and scallops, and cheesy gratin potatoes, and it was excellent! My husband had the ribeye and mashed potatoes. His ribeye was ordered medium rare and was a little overcooked and under seasoned. We would absolutely come back though.

Friendly people, excellent food, and fantastic wine in a really chill environment. My wife and I had a great meal there after mountain biking all day. I highly recommend.
