In one of the most idyllic settings. This 17th Century building sits above a shallow slope to the Thames and enjoys both a sunny veranda balcony and a pretty paved garden right on the riverside.
Apart from one or two extensions over the years the pub building remains relatively untouched, giving it a traditional pub feel.
Festooned with flowers and plants outside in summer and warmed with log fires in the winter it’s been a very special local in Twickenham for many years.

I booked some 6 months ago ahead of the rugby final. The Swan made lunch a self serve BBQ. For all the understandable reasons I appreciate but when I booked I had expected table service and more than just a Burger for dinner. They called me while I was on the train to j firm me of the change of plan, which was too late for me to book an alternative. Just recovering from a road accident so I was hoping this goal event for me would feel slightly more special. Lovely venue.

Wonderful situation on the river. Old characterful pub. Doggie friendly. Great food. We walked the dogs from Richmond along the riverside to the pub. Will definitely go again.

Always a good experience at TWS. I maybe should’ve chosen different food, the scampi was a little greasy and not that tasty tbh, it was a tad pricey too. I understand that all pubs are struggling big time with costs but my food was a little underwhelming. A great spot for lunch though, good range of beers and wine and the service was excellent.

Good menu - mackerel pate was very fresh and summery, Moroccan chicken, excellent. A lovely bottle of Picpoul. Staff were very friendly and efficient. As it was a glorious day, we would have sat outside in the sunshine - but people still smoke in that area, so it's a bit unpleasant if you're eating.

The White Swan is a typically quintessential old Englush rustic pub with wooden beams and floorboards and has lovely views of the river.It has a very warm welcoming feeling and following my request at the time of booking, we were delighted to be seated at the wonderful river view seating area. The staff were all extremely friendly and made our time there very relaxing and were attentive to all our needs. The food was all excellent with fantastic home made style chips accompanying most meals, superb food portions and everything cooked to perfection. We'd highly recommend a visit!

We're locals but this time we took visitors from out of town who LOVED our afternoon at The White Swan! We were nearly 40 minutes late as a spectacularly high tide had us completely stranded the other side of the river but the staff were so accommodating and patient and kept our table despite it being a Saturday afternoon. And what a table - a cosy banquette right in the front window overlooking the river. Also very dog friendly which was lovely. Food and service were excellent: friendly and attentive. Also great music that made it all feel so relaxed. Our east enders were blown away by what a treasure this pub is - perfect way to spend a sunny spring afternoon! Drinks perhaps slightly expensive but with a location like that it's worth it!
