The impressive accolades of Oxfordshire Restaurant of the Year and Best Gastropub, are richly deserved for the White Hart. Set in the picturesque village of Fyfield, The White Hart is the ultimate country pub and offers one of the finest foodie dining experiences in the county. Housed in a stunning 15th century chantry, customers can choose to eat under the soaring eaves of the great hall, up high in the minstrel's gallery, in the cosy bar by the fire or on the beautiful patio terrace.
With a passion for provenance, the kitchen sources food from the very best local suppliers and grow much of their own fruit and vegetables. Mark even fishes for his own crayfish and trout from the local reservoir! Cooking is modern British and menus change daily depending on what is fresh and seasonal - with the signature slow roasted pork belly, with foot long crackling, being a favourite.

We have had a fantastic experience. The pub/restaurant is set within an old building which added to the ambience. The food was wonderful. We were made to feel very special having told them we were celebrating our wedding anniversary when we booked. Go hungry!

I am a regular at the White Hart, so my reviews will be sounding rather similar, it’s simply my first choice of restaurant, as quality of food and service is excellent. Had lunch today with a friend, it was lovely!

Truly lovely restaurant, authentic cadre and friendly staff. The menu is well balanced between classic and surprising. Obviously a lot of thought in each dish and combination of flavours.

Lovely ambience. Overall food was delicious especially the artichoke starter, pork belly and sticky toffee pudding. The only letdown was the waitress who was rather stern and unfriendly, and for some reason seemed taken aback when we asked for the pudding after she had brought us the dessert menu.

We were given a table in the very poor upstairs room. I wouldn’t have booked had I known. It lacks atmosphere and is grubby

Thank you for the feedback - I am sorry you did not like the area in which you were sat. I love the beams and character of this space but I do understand it is not quite as impressive as the grand hall in the main restaurant. We are always fully booked on Saturdays - when you booked a few hours before the reservation, unfortunately that was all that was available. If you book in advance and specify the main restaurant we are always happy to accommodate. Best wishes, Kay and Team.
