Au Wharf, les murs sont imprégnés d'histoire. En effet, cet établissement présente une architecture dans le style des années 1790 avec des poutres et des colonnes en bois d'origine qui ont été carbonisées pendant la guerre civile. Depuis 1971, le Wharf, qui est installé dans la vieille ville, attire des clients qui reviennent dans cet établissement pour déguster son homard du Maine, ses crabes à carapace molle locaux et ses steaks primés. Le restaurant a été récemment rénové et le menu actualisé. Il comprend de nombreux produits de la mer contemporains ainsi que des créations traditionnelles de la baie de Chesapeake.

Everything was amazing. We had a romantic fantastic evening in the perfect atmosphere with delicious food presented by a lovely server. Didn’t want to leave.

It was pretty dark. Calamari was good- lightly breaded. For dinner, I tried to substitute a different side but was told the chef wasn’t doing them because he was backed up. Husband’s steak was good but baked potato tasted old and reheated. My sea bass was soggy and oil saturated, warm at best, cold rice. Had to flag the waiter down since he didn’t check back to get something else. I ordered a crab cake appetizer. A crab cake dinner came and again, waiter didn’t check on me. Tasted good but not what I had ordered. Never offered dessert or anything for the fact my husband and I ate separately. Finally the waiter let me know they wouldn’t charge me for the meal they brought me but just the one I ordered, which I never even got. Not sure why a nice restaurant had servers with so many tables. Our server had 7 tables and I’m guessing each had as terrible of service as us. Super disappointing because we rarely get to go out.

Ambiance was great, but the service was spotty. Wait staff were very nice, but didn’t check on table often.

The food was excellent. Ambiance was great. If you would like a more intimate setting, please ask to be seated in the upstairs dinning area. Overall great dinning experience!

The food was just okay, lots of butter but edible, and the cost and portions were reasonable . Garlic, butter ( duh) shrimp, fried calamari, baked oyster appetizer- lobster pasta ( nice light tomato sauce), fried shrimp, Long Island Iced Tea ( watery)- nothing that would stop me from going back. The service was attentive. Beware of the dining room upstairs. The stairs are a little scary if you have mobility issues.

I would stick to shecrab soup and a starter. Crab cake was mushy. Seafood platter was to be broiled. Seemed mushy as well. Oh the French fries were good.

We came during Restaurant Week which is normally when restaurants are on their A game. It seemed to be the opposite. The raw oysters were supposed to be from The Chesapeake Bay, but they were oversized and inedible. Very disappointed. Ordered the filet mignon ‘medium’ and it came out rare. Waitress sent it back, and kitchen recooked the same piece of meat. Clearly at a high temperature because the outside was beyond charred, cut in and it was still raw inside. Could not eat it and the waitress had no sympathy or resolution for us. Another member of my party ordered the salmon Oscar, which was supposed to come with a bearnaise sauce. The salmon was so dry it was inedible. They then bring out a butter sauce which was disgusting. Again the waitress didn’t care, didn’t offer to take it off, or bring a manager out to assist. The waitress made it seem like it was our problem. For the level of restaurant this is, we expected way better and were very disappointed. Will not be back.
