Westside Local now adds 3% to check if credit card is used to pay. Ridiculous! That impacts the amount of tip I’m willing to leave too. I’ll take my dining business elsewhere.

My favorite restaurant in KC. Full stop. Great spot for a date or night out with friends.

When we arrived, the restaurant was not yet prepared to open doors to customers, although we did not try to open the door until our reservation time. The manager made it clear that it was an inconvenience upon entering when they were ready the same manager taking reservations, was very curt and not at all friendly. Our visit felt like it was inconvenient for him. This was the only reason they did not get a five out of five everything else was exactly what we enjoy when for brunch. The friendly wait staff made all the difference in the world.

Excellent food, and excellent service. We had not been to this restaurant before, but my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Our server, Tina, was very pleasant and attentive. We brought our leftovers home (so we could enjoy dessert) ...and got to enjoy a great meal twice!

Brunch at WL was as always delightful. The deviled eggs were heavy on the mustard, just the way I enjoy them. Our omelettes and blacked salmon eggs bennys were delicious. The service was excellent in efficiency and knowledge of the menu. Overall a terrific blunch to begin the Sunday.

I went on a Sunday night while in town in KC. I used to work for a company in KC but lived elsehwere...but I would travel to KC for a week every month. The Westside Local was a favorite and I ate here just about every time I was in town. I returned while in KC with a business colleague. Food was good as always...but the overall issue was service. It was fast and server did pay attention...but we very much both felt we were being urged along to finish up and get out of there. It was a Sunday night and we had a small table for 2 next to the bar. Can't imagine that table was in high demand but from the point of getting drinks we felt we were consistently trying to get us to order entree's...then finish entree's...then here's your check. We were trying to take our time and enjoy our one meal in KC that would not be a large group...but just felt weird. I'd probably not write this if only I felt this way but my colleague picked up on it as well. Not sure if the server just didn't want the table...wanted to turn it...didn't feel well...whatever. Dunno....but it wasn't the "friendly" Westside Local I remember from 2015-2019.

Mel, our server, smiling and friendly, helped us and our out-of-town guests navigate the menu. Timing was exactly right when checking back with us after the food was served. The ingredients were fresh and deliciously prepared. A fav' place, and looking forward to another visit!

Great food as always with some quirky drinks. Might want to upgrade your air conditioning. It was super hot in there during our dining experience but otherwise great.
