The Waterfront Restaurant and Tavern has been changing the dining experience in La Crosse since 2006. By offering supreme product and hospitality, we have become a favorite of locals and a travel destination all in the same. Our menus highlight seasonal American cuisine that includes certified angus beef and fresh day-boat seafood. With a focus on the freshest foods of each season, our culinary team allows the ingredients to speak for themselves. The Banquet RoomDesigned as a stylish, comfortable venue for 24 to 100 guests, The Banquet Room showcases breathtaking views of the Mississippi River and Riverside Park. Amenities include a private bar, coatroom, powder rooms, private parking lot and complimentary presentation technology.The Private Dining RoomA secluded dining or meeting space for a small group, The Private Dining Room looks out over a spectacular river scene. Adjacent to the restaurant and tavern, it seats up to 16 guests.

We ended up choosing to dine in the attached Tavern area (which doesn’t require/accept reservations) because we arrived early and were so comfortable there! Dillon took exquisite care of us and the abbreviated menu was still great. Highly recommend.

We were greeted by bartender and seated in your clean beautiful dining room. We started with sangria cocktails, I had the crispy fried chicken sandwich with a house salad , and my family ordered Shaved ribeye sandwich, served with house chips. Our food was fresh, tasty and plated nicely . Great service!

More upscale dining. Nice menu range and reasonable selection of wines. Again, no really tempting specials for the evening (a Saturday). Enjoyed the food and presentation. The server was slightly over attentive, which was starting to annoy by the end of the evening. For a more formal dining location, this is a good setting. Sadly, there is no dress code. Why do we have to dine seeing baseball caps, shorts, t-shirts and other street clothes. When will anyone start to insist on dress shirts, pants and no hats (all for men). In a pub, fine - in a finer dining restaurant, please dress more formaly.

Food was good. The service was very slow. I think our waitress forgot about us. Took 2 hours to dine. The waitress was very pleasant, just didn’t come by often. Our drinks were empty for a long time, needed to remind her about our drinks(constantly) and waited for the check a long time. This was our anniversary and we will probably not dine there again. The food was good though.

Our dinner last night was perfection. We were going to be 1.5 hours late for our reservation, I called and Katlin fixed it. Then when we got there, she took us out to the patio to get the last table❤️ I like my steak, no pink. Haha. The chief served me a perfect steak. The Old Fashions, the corn salad, the scallops&pasta and the KEY LIME pie! Thank you for a great dinner.

The service, by Mel, was outstanding per usual. The menu was varied and everything was described well ans sounded wonderful. I had the top sirloin with the chef's choice mashed potatoes and .ixed vegetables. Everything was cooked up perfection and seasoned exactly right. My wife had the special, which was black cod, skin on, pan seared served over a mixed salad w/rice. She said it was absolutely delicious. We were there to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary, this was acknowledged by everyone from the host/manager to our server, Mel, and several other waitstaff and personnel. We received a delightful dessert to finish off our meal. Our experience was wonderful but no less than we have come to expect from The Waterfront. This has become our favorite place to celebrate life events or just to enjoy a lovely evening out. We highly recommend The Waterfront.

Everything was top notch from the decorations/ambience, to the service, to the food. I would return if I pass through LaCrosse again and recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a great dining experience.
