The filet mignon was cooked properly, the broccolini and mashed potatoes were also good although I think a higher quality potato dish is needed to match the level of a filet. The lobster tail was seasoned with white pepper which I think is a mistake. The salad was huge but mostly just a lettuce mix, so really uninspired, and the balsamic dressing was awful. They offered a free appetizer of a potato fritter which, although properly prepared, is pretty low on the ladder of fine dining considering they are trying to sell filets and lobster. I took a bite but left the rest and my companion didn’t even try it. The prices are very reasonable and the service was adequate, fairly prompt. Overall I think this small independent needs to do some homework on how to take their offerings up a level.

A hidden gem in Santa Cruz. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. We will be back!

Zero out of 4 of us liked our dinner. Pork chop was so overcooked it could barely be cut into, and even the Mac & Cheese was so covered with white pepper that it didn’t get eaten. We will never go back.

We had a very enjoyable dinner at the Water St Grill. Our server was so friendly and attentive. My ribeye was perfect and my wife's pasta was delicious. The Caesar salad and sides were just OK. Overall a great experience.

We chose this place based on the reviews and I am not sure if we went on an off day but the experience was not what we expected. The food was inedible. The clam chowder was thick and goopy, came out cold and had no salt or flavor. It felt like it had been from the night before, maybe days before. The salmon was an unnatural color and was definitely not fresh. The one bite I did try was smothered in butter and spices. The filet was not a filet, it was some other cut and was chewy, but was the only thing eaten out of four plates. The mashed potatoes tasted sour. The vegetables were also smothered in butter and spices and I literally spit them out into my napkin because they were so bad, again tasting sour and over-spiced. The one bright spot was the server, who was very friendly. That said, the service was slow given there were only two tables at 6pm on a holiday weekend. She also didn't notice that only one of us touched our food. We didn't send anything back, we just paid for the food and left hungry. I wish we had dug deeper into the reviews because this was $250 meal (4 people, no alcohol) that we did not eat. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Good food. Nice staff. A bit pricey and too loud and cramped for us. We had a reservation and they seated us at a tiny corner table. I don’t think I would go back.
