Chic. Modern. Sophisticated. But also casual and friendly. The Venue is the cool hot spot on El Paseo, popular with locals, out-of-town visitors and food critics who serve up rave reviews. The Venue is artful, from its sleek décor to the original, ever-evolving menu, enthusiastically created by owner/chef Engin Onural. "This is my art," he shares. "Each plate is a painting, but I use fish instead of paint."

    The service was terrible. My wife’s food came out 10 minutes before mine. Server more interested in high maintenance table next to us. Felt we got swindled into $11 bottle of water. Food was good but very limited selection. All the rolls were either crab or shrimp, there were no tuna rolls. Won’t be back.

    Great service! Our waiter was pleasant and informative! The food was eclectic, with a flair for uniqueness! We loved the outdoor ambiance!

    We are big fans of The Venue - love the people, love the food, and enjoyed the NA drink special last night for Valentines Day. Enjoyed our romantic evening there.

    We always love The Venue. Last night was no exception. Fantastic, fresh sushi with interesting flavors and sauces!! Cocktail was perfect as well. Highly recommend.

    every bite was delicious, when it finally got to the table. Service was slow, food was very good. Prices were high relative to others but you get what you pay for. Inside is cramped and the seats are low. Was too cold to sit outside but that looks the place to be.

    We live close by and have been to this restaurant several times. Service has gone downhill. Asked our waiter for plates, forks and other utensils. Had to finally get up and get them ourselves. Sushi is just ok, many other places in the area for sushi with better service. Also, no premium liquor , just the cheap stuff. So bad service, expensive sushi, no premium liquor, cheap wines. Enough to say we’re not going back!

    A great place in PD for really good sushi! A little pricey but it’s the desert and El Paseo and the quality and the creativity is definitely worth it. (You never want to go to a place with inexpensive sushi !) Highly recommended. We ate on the patio with our two dogs hanging with us and it was a dream.
