First two things I ordered were not available so ended up ordering the bone in ribeye. Ordered medium rare; came out medium well and no flavor. Great ambiance but food was meh at best.

Overall nice experience. The breakfast entrees are very reasonably priced…and delicious too! The view of Lake Mendota was a sweet perk.

People are nice. But food is average but priced as a higher end restaurant. The ambiance, service and food does not justify who it was advertised and priced.

It was a mistake to go on the 4th of July I guess. It was our wedding anniversary and have been here so many times over the past 29 years. We even got engaged here years ago. So disappointing. No one said anything or even asked if it was a special occasion though it was listed in our reservation. The waiter was inattentive and seemed to keep forgetting about us. Took forever to take our food order, had to flag someone down to find him. I didn’t eat my fish because it tasted off and he asked if he could box it and I gave him a passionate “no” and he just took it away. Never asked if the food was okay or checked back. We needed to find people to ask for things…like a knife needed to eat the meal. My mocktail was disgusting. Manager never even said hello. Just not a good evening. Memorable for the wrong reasons.

Enjoyed a nice anniversary dinner. Highly recommend the surf and turf (pork belly and shrimp).

View and service very good. Food was also very good but a little lackluster on the grilled cheese which was on thinly sliced bread with standard cheese that you could find at any restaurant kid's menu. Expected a little more on the here since it is Wisconsin and I had thought would be, at the very least, a little fancier cheese and some bread that made you think, WOW. Other than that...would totally come back.

Great "Tuesday Date Night" dinner. We both enjoyed our entrees, I had the fish fry and we split a large Caesar salad and took the dessert to go and enjoy later. Our server was Natasha, and she was excellent. Always there when we needed something and gave us good advice for our choice of wine. Definitely a very good choice for dinner!

We had the "Date Night" dinner at the Statehouse, which included a limited menu with a bottle of wine for a set price. It was perfect. The dinner started with a Pear Merlot Salad that was the hit of the meal. My wife had the Chicken dish and I had the Burger. Both were excellent. The Profiteroles for dessert were a nice touch as well. Big pluses of the evening also included the live 70s music played during dinner and the beautiful sunset over Lake Mendota out the window.

Great service from our waiter. The Tuna and Calamari appetizers were excellent and the 1/2 wedge salad was delicious. We ordered two strip steaks and a filet at our table. The filet couldn’t have been any better anywhere. The strip was actually a little tough because it was such a lean cut of beef. We still enjoyed the steaks but the Filet Mignon is the choice if you’re undecided and looking for a beef entree’. Gorgeous view from our inside table overlooking the lake. Again, our server was great and we will be back.
