The Sunday menu was decidedly average. Reminded me of a carvery lunch from the 70’s. Rather disappointing given it stresses its connection to a Michelin star restaurant.

Went for Sunday breakfast, and both had and enjoyed the full Yorkshire breakfast. Nice and hot and well cooked. We both had a pot of tea , which was disappointing in that it didn’t come with an additional pot of hot water to top it up . The pot was quite small, only got two small cups of tea out of it and at £4 + 12.5% service charge is poor value.

Lovely warm atmosphere, attentive service and an ox cheek dish that's out of this world. Unfortunately both my starter (pork belly) and dessert (rhubarb and almond tart) were on the dry side, which given the price paid is disappointing. However I'd come back night after night for that ox cheek dish, melt in the mouth and top quality flavour.

Nice atmosphere in a pleasant restaurant. The food fro. the discounted menu was perfectly acceptable. Good wine list. Perhaps a little more expensive than I had hoped for being lunch and restaurant week but overall an enjoyable experience.

Great overall meal and experience, with excellent service.Our starters have of Scallop Risotto was excellent, my wife’s main course of Celeriac was slightly oily. My main course of Fish Fritter was ok. Lovely bottle of wine great service from our waitress (Lumi). Overall a good experience and would certainly return on our next visit to York.

Our second time at this restaurant and we weren't disappointed. The food was excellent. Lovely ambience. Service was good, and our courses came pretty quickly. I would recommend. A special treat.
