“Our menu revolves around ‘classics’ or ‘standards’ restaurant goers have come to know and love, yet with our own unique twist; upscale comfort food. The ambiance and food are always great here - not the issue. The service is book or busy, and this visit was more of a bust. The server was likely on the newer side, but was clearer not trained in the art of customer service. Lack of communication, not checking in to see if we needed anything (had to flag him down to get more drinks, nothing after our dinner was delivered), and no birthday acknowledgment even though my reservation called it out and I told him before the birthday girl arrived. Will be back, but hopefully a friendlier server.

Our reservations were early at 4:30 so there was only a few people dining. We have been going to the standard for years and it has always been the same quality, relaxed atmosphere, and we have always had pleasant servers.

Good to very good food. Service very good. The Standard is a reliable choice for me when visiting the area... not a particular stand out, bur a good option nonetheless.

We used to love going to the Standard. Not anymore. The restaurant was relatively slow. We were served our dinner before our drinks. There’s no doubt in my mind that they substitute our Gray Goose with a lesser vodka. The AC units have been broken in the restaurant for several months. It’s very hot and stuffy in there. The bathroom is broken and dingy the paper towel dispenser doesn’t work. This was one of our favorite restaurants to go, for years. Always a consistent meal. I’m not sure if we’ll go back anymore. This last time might have been our last. What happened to this place?!

Service was good, staff was great! Cocktails were delicious! My daughter ordered the mac & cheese and liked it very much, my husband ordered the Cobb salad and liked that as well. I ordered the cranberry pecan salad, and it was good overall; however, the chicken was overcooked and tough. The pears and pecans really brought out the flavor. More tender chicken would have made the salad excellent!

Lively restaurant within the Crossgates Mall development. Fun interior depicting Hollywood stars of yesteryear. We dined under the gaze of Audrey Hepburn. The menu is extensive and we started with crab cakes, one serving enough for two. We followed with large salads and shared a peanut butter and chocolate dessert which was delicious. Our waitress was nice but a bit over whelmed, having to also deal with a very large party. A male colleague who was very charming stepped in to help so we were not inconvenienced. Recommend - however on leaving we are certain we saw a mouse...

The Standard is my favorite Albany area restaurant. The food has always been prepared very well, and the service is always very good as well. We asked to be seated at one of Nick's tables as he always does a great job for us. Last evening was no exception. From the minute he greeted my friends and me, we were treated to the excellent service that Nick always provides. The quality of the food we had complemented the quality service provided by Nick. The Standard is an excellent dining establishment and I already look forward to my next outing there.
