Brought an out of town visitor and The Smith offered exactly what we were hoping for. The host was excellent and took care of us from the get go. We were greeted with a smile and he made sure to wish my guest a Happy Birthday, which delighted him. We were given a great table and our server was prompt, helpful, and available whenever we needed. Food was delicious, as always, as were the cocktails. Highly recommended!

The Smith is always a great place to gather with friends for brunch, and this time was no different. We were seated quickly and our server was friendly and attentive. The food was very tasty. I had the Shrimp & Grits, which had eggs baked into the grits — all very good and filling (I couldn’t finish it). Eggs Benedict had the usual ingredients, but were special in that they looked much more nicely composed than in the vast majority of places, and tasted great. Others in our group order lovely-looking salads and other egg dishes, pancakes and a variety of iced coffee drinks. It was all top notch. The only drawback was that the restaurant was exceptionally loud at the height of the rush; we had trouble communicating and our server had trouble hearing our order. We kept our humor, agreeing it was a sign that everyone was having a good time. So bring your good humor and your appetites, because you’ll be glad you brunched at The Smith.

Nice looking restaurant but WAY too loud. We went for lunch and didn’t expect the noise level to be so high. There were six of us and we had to scream at each other to be heard. Food was good, but over-priced for brunch. For 6 of us it cost over $330 (over $50 each). We ordered 3 salads (small), 3 burgers, 2 egg dishes, 1 beer, 1 cocktail, 1 glass of wine. Waiter was not great - taking away lunch plates and asking for dessert orders when others were still eating. Overall a bad experience. Pricy food and mediocre service - ok, this is NYC. But the noise level is unacceptable. Unless they do something to mitigate the sound issues, I’m unlikely to return, even though this restaurant is close to where I live.

They handle food allergies very well. Food is always great. The noise level is extremely high in the bar area. If dining and want conversation, must sit in the back.
