Le restaurant The Seashell of Lisson Grove situé dans le quartier Marylebone promet de combler les attentes de fish and chips des plus fins palais londoniens. Cette cuisine fabuleuse, selon le critique culinaire Alain Ducasse sert «le meilleur fish and chips de Londres», ce qui veut dire beaucoup dans cette ville où les gens ne jurent que par ce plat. Il existe trop de différences entre le restaurant The Seashell of Lisson Grove et le bistro de quartier où vous avez l'habitude de déguster votre fish and chips pour toutes les énumérer ici. Par contre, ce qui fait le caractère unique du restaurant est surtout le décor qui combine aisément confort et style et qui convient tout à fait à un repas tranquille entres amis qu'à un dîner d'affaire raffiné. Alors bien sûr, le restaurant se situe dans le quartier chic de Marylebone, à proximité du West End et de nombreux sites touristiques importants de Londres, mais vous aurez tout de même la sensation de vous retrouver dans un restaurant de quartier.

                                                                    Years ago I used to frequent the take away area of The Sea Shell and had fond memories so I decided to book the restaurant on a recent visit. I had a delicious grilled salmon (large portion) and my partner had the cod fish-and-chips which was also substantial. The fish was good, the fries nothing special. I ordered a side of grilled vegetables and specially said I was allergic to broccoli. Our server (who admittedly said it was his first week of work) checked with the kitchen, but the plate arrived with broccoli. I declined it (another server had delivered it.) The plate remained on the table uneaten and when we checked out I had to ask for it be removed from the bill. Our server was trying his best, but no one checked on us during our meal making it seem like they are seriously short staffed/under trained. The take-away seemed busy so that’ll be our choice next time.

                                                                    I had an excellent meal there. Consider the grilled fish! That's a sleeper. I also tried the panko and matzo coating but the original coating was my favorite.

                                                                    Honestly you don’t need a reservation to go. Most people stop and go. They have a few tables and your order comes in a box. Portions are huge. The fish is good. I didn’t like the Cole slaw and the sauces had to be ordered separately so don’t have to make two trips to the register. Is sort of a fast food English experience. Instead of burger and fries, you are having fish and fries.

It sounds like you may have visited our take-away restaurant by mistake, which is located next door to our dine-in restaurant. Our dine-in location offers a more traditional dining experience with table service, and we hope you'll give it a try next time!

                                                                    We were greeted upon arrival by a friendly, professional waiter, and shown to our table. Our water and drinks were ordered and served soon after our seating. We each ordered the cod and chips, some with traditional batter and some with panko breading. All were delicious, served hot and in a timely manner. Our sides were also nicely prepared and delicious. This meal was a very nice family outing. Thank you, Seashell Restaurant of Lisson Grove.
