Le Reef, appelé à l'origine Comptons, a été construit par la famille Usina sur une belle propriété en bord de mer dans la paisible North Beach - à moins de cinq kilomètres au nord de l'Usina Bridge - sur des terres appartenant à la famille depuis des générations. Comptons a ouvert en 1989 et a connu un grand succès pendant les dix années suivantes. Il a fermé en 1999 en raison de la mauvaise santé de M. Compton et des dégâts causés par les ouragans. Il reste peu de véritables restaurants en bord de mer dans le nord-est de la Floride, et parmi ceux-ci, The Reef, qui a rouvert en 2002 sous la direction des Usinas, attire les vues les plus spectaculaires. Prenez place à l'intérieur et admirez la vue dynamique, ou profitez de la terrasse récemment reconstruite et agrandie d'où vous pourrez non seulement regarder l'océan, mais aussi l'écouter avec le déferlement des vagues et le cri des oiseaux. Pour compléter cette vue, le chef Bob Henle a créé un menu principalement à base de poissons et de fruits de mer équilibré avec du bœuf, de la volaille, des pâtes ainsi que des plats créatifs, toujours frais et d'origine locale chaque fois que possible.

Amazing view even in the rain for this off the path restaurant. We had a sweet server who messed up the orders. And my husbands old fashion was made with regular ice not a big block…which totally ruins the drink. We ordered pate and ended up with a crab cake. It was amazing so there is that! The. My husband ordered prime rib which was nothing special. I got grilled grouper with key lime romelade…no key lime flavor at all! Just tasted like mayo. The veggies were so over cooked. I asked for mashed potatoes and got rice. I will say the grouper was cooked to perfection! Not sure I would go back.

I had the pecan crusted mahi with orzo and my husband had the pork chop. We had a calamari appetizer and Aji tuna appetizer as well with two other people. The food was amazing and the service was just as good. Jessica our server was amazing. We will totally ask for her when we come back. Thank you for a great evening.

Our evening was wonderful from the moment we walked in! The hostess was welcoming and assured up our table would be ready soon. She came through and gave us a window table which was great considering the breeze and cool air coming off the ocean. Our server Jessica was excellent! She was very attentive and accepting that we were in no hurry. The meal was fantastic! The flavors were rich, the presentation was great too! We look forward to returning!

Four of us ate here for dinner- 2 had the Halibut Special, 1 Grouper and 1 Mahi. All excellent. Addison was our server and he’s also excellent- friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Definitely will return. The only downside is the noise level In the upper part of the main dining room. Wow, we had to yell to hear each other.

First time at The Reef. I made lunch reservations for four. We sat inside . Great ocean view , quiet and beautiful atmosphere. Our server was Addison was professional and friendly. He took our picture. Loved the artwork by T.G. Rice! My boyfriend and I are vegan. We did have the grilled cauliflower with the risotto. Delicious! Our friends had the pretzel crusted chicken salad and the honey Dijon salmon. Everything was perfectly prepared! We will be back and sit outside next visit!

As always, wonderful visit to the Reef. Service was fantastic, friendly and accommodating server, excellent food all around. Free desert for our friend, who we brought for her birthday dinner. Highly recommend the reef!

My wife and I had an excellent experience at The Reef. The cocktails, apps and entrees were all perfectly prepared and our server, Zack, was great as well. Add to that the ambiance of being seated on the deck listening to and watching waves crash, it was amazing experience. Thank you to The Reef team.

Our server, Banyan, is great! This was our second time here this week. The food quality is better than you might expect. It’s really good food with a great view of the beach. The service is excellent. People here are very friendly. I recommend trying the brunch. Great value.
