Tucked away under an ancient Banyan tree, the vibrant, Caribbean-inspired cottages that make up the Macaw will transport you to a secret oasis.

A Night of Art & Music with Frank Corso

A special concert presentation the evening of February 24th from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at the Real Macaw Restaurant on Bayshore Dr, Naples, Florida. Frank will present an intimate glimpse into his lifelong journey of melding visual and performing arts. There will be a curated selection of his original paintings on display as he discusses the nuances of his life immersed in the arts. He will be performing some old country blues, ragtime and original music on Guitar, National steel guitar and Banjo, while sharing stories about the origins of the music, the musicians and its very interesting history and how it has influenced todays popular music. His award winning paintings grace some of the most prestigious homes, institutions and corporations worldwide, and has had over 25 one man shows in prestigious Galleries and is the recipient of many awards including the Grumbacher Gold medal, along with feature articles in many national art magazines and publications. In music, he has shared the stage with many national acts including Taj Mahal, Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks, Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry, J Geils Band, Dave Von Ronk, John Mooney, Richard Smith, John Hammond, Doc Watson, John Hartford and many others. He has recorded 6 CD's, the last two of which were recorded in Nashville with Richard Smith at Tunesmith Studios, and has been a guest artist on many others. He has performed nationwide and as far afield as Tuscany, Italy.

Usually at the Real McCaw once a month in season... been going there for over ten years. Valentines day was a dissapointment...over 2 hours for a dinner for two? Had to ask for water three times. Table next to us arrived 30 minutes after we did... they got their drinks, appetizer and entre' before we got ours. They left 30 minutes before us. Took 30 minues between each course for us... My wife's surf 'n turf was great... my baked black grouper was dry and tasteless. We'll be back, but never for a special occasion.

Valentines dinner was a disaster. The restaurant was overwhelmed and could not get food out to the diners. We waited 45 minutes for our starters, then another hour before we decided to leave without ever receiving our entrees. We decided to leave when we noticed people who had come in after us getting their meals. We told our server that we wanted to leave and pay for whatever we owed (drinks and our appetizers, but to the restaurant's credit, they took care of the entire bill. Not exactly sure what happened last night, we heard that they were short staffed and that somehow our dinner ticket was lost in the kitchen, but it wasn't just us, it was everyone. Lots of complaints and frustration from diners. The Real Macaw has always been one of our favorites. It will be hard to return after last night.

The place is not its best during a crush of patrons. It's better to go when it's not sold out. Not worth the prices they charged at Valentine's Day. $96 per person for a prix fix menu was pricey as it was just their regular offers, but at a steep premium. Staff was heroic, but couldn't keep up with the demand. Disappointed.

Because of the number of customers, the kitchen took about 45 minutes to bring the main course.

Always look forward to our evening at The Real Macaw and they continue to not disappoint! For a table for 6 the reservation was on time and soon 6 Macaw juices were being enjoyed. Terrific service from Linda and the specials of shrimp scampi and swordfish were outstanding! Don’t miss going to this special place!!

One of my favorite restaurants in Naples! The service is impeccable, the food is always delicious, and the atmosphere is very relaxed and bohemian.
