My daughter and I were traveling together and the Publyk House was recommended by several different folks. I think we must have hit it on an “off” night. It was packed, and the service was not good. Our server had more tables than seemed possible to handle, and simply was not able to keep up. Our drinks were empty most of the time, she offered bread and didn’t bring it (after we asked a couple of times), and we were generally ignored unless we flagged her down for something…and even then it was a 10 minute wait for a refill on a soda. The food was hot and fresh. I ordered fish and chips, and it really didn’t have much flavor. After 45 minutes and 3 requests, we finally got the bread that they are known for, and it was fantastic. But the rest of the experience was sort of mediocre. We had a reservation.

We asked for a view. There were 5 of us. They gave us our own little private room. It was wonderful!!! Everyone enjoyed their meal. The salad bar was delicious and had a great variety of offerings. Our waitress was very efficient, professional and thoughtful.

Fabulous sunset scenery. Good food (don’t pass on the mussels). Excellent, friendly service.

The absolute best dining experience in southern Vermont! Comfortable ambience (not at all stuffy), excellent service, wonderful menu with fresh salad bar accompanying all delicious entrées and tavern choices, unlimited iced tea, yummy desserts, and competitive prices. Amazing mountain view from the window wall in the main dining room. Heated outdoor dining. Our favorite go-to restaurant!

We had to wait for over a hour to take our order. Overall it took 3 hours to complete our meals. They were having a party of over 100 people and ignored my party When we attempted to to buy drinks at the bar some where told to sit down and wait for the waiter Completely unacceptable

Our server was amazing and very accommodating. Our food was delicious and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We will definitely be back!

Food and service are good; but overall overpriced. Salad bar should not be $19. Adding meat to a salad should not be $15. Wine was marked up over value.

Super friendly and accommodating. We had a reservation but the table we were supposed to have ended up being sat. They gave us an awesome table in the big open room with the fireplace. Very few people and was just beautiful. Food and drinks were amazing. Our server was outstanding as well. When we come back to Vermont, we will be eating here again. Thank you!!
