Pour le chef Jeff Ruby, c'est le Steakhouse qui a tout déclenché. En 1981, The Precinct émerge dans l'ancienne Cincinnati Police Patrol House number 6. Cette structure au style romanesque, amené au tournant du 21e siècle, détiendrait ce qui est maintenant le plus grand restaurant à nappes blanches fonctionnant en continu dans la ville. As usual the Precinct delivered an amazing meal/experience! Service staff did a wonderful job and were very attentive. The smoked pear vanilla old fashion was awesome and went well with the bone in filet!

Other than making reservations two months ago and asking for the round room upstairs, and assured the day before we were to have it but ended up not having it. Everything else was very good.

My expectations were high based on Jeff Ruby's reputation, and I knew the price for dining there was going to be at a premium, but nothing about the evening seemed to justify the cost. When we arrived, the only option for parking at The Precinct is valet and was $8 up front. We were seated on the Patio, which was noisy because of the traffic, but comfortable, even for a cool evening. The table was small and quickly became a game of Tetris to make room for the dining courses. Much better seating was available in the main dining room or even the bar area but making my reservation on OpenTable months in advance didn't offer any options. My date and I had the Crab Cake and Blue Crab Bisque as appetizers, which were both excellent. The Freddie and the Greek salad that came with the meal had bland tomatoes cut too large and both plates were way over-dressed in barely green romaine. Neither was worth finishing. The Steak Burrow and the Barrel-Cut Filet Mignon were clearly good cuts of meat and cooked very well, but the highly vaunted crusted "tallow" on the filet was way too salty and overpowered any other spices they used. I chose to have a side of asparagus which ended up being just 3 stalks (I'm glad there was bread and butter on the table). The Burrow came with a lobster tail that was rubbery with no flavor at all. The creole sauce was decent, but nothing remarkable. The server apologized every time they came to the table to do regular server type functions, which was unnecessary. They were attentive and we didn't feel the wait was too long for anything, but they were always very sorry to interrupt, or sorry the bar was slammed, or sorry to provide us with dessert options and it felt disingenuous after a while. The experience at The Precinct was better than Texas Roadhouse or Outback, but hardly worth the price and I don't plan on going back. Maybe the Jeff Ruby's on Fountain Square is better.

The Precinct has a great atmosphere and I loved that there was a lot of history tied to the building. The food was incredible and the service was fabulous. Highly recommend!

I apologize in advance for not knowing how to spell our servers name. Chanarra and Evan were very attentive, knowledgeable, fun, sweet, and all around fabulous! Jordan was so kind! A special thanks to Travis, he knows why! The whole team effort made our sweetest day dinner perfect! The pink ribbon cake was phenomenal!
