With glorious views across to Studland Bay and Old Harry, the Haven Hotel is renowned for its locally acclaimed restaurant, The Point.

Our Head Chef, wherever possible, tries to use local and sustainable ingredients. With a passion for reducing the ‘nautical miles’ of seafood, from source to plate.

On arrival they obviously hadn’t read the special requests so that was wasted. The starter and main were delicious the service was initially good but it dissipated as the night went on. By the time we got to dessert it was non existent it took then 20 minutes to take our order then the table next to ours received their dessert even though they ordered 15 minutes after us. When questioned the waitress said chef was creating it now so I expected something spectacular to arrive only to be disappointed to find that frangipane was a slice of cold cake with a scoop of non de script tasting ice cream not sure why it took so long I can only assume they forgot. When asking for the bill and asked if everything had been to my liking I advised the food had been good but the service had been lacking . The response I got was that they had a birthday party in so had been more distracted however I pointed out that all customers should receive the same level of service birthday or not.

We got there and had to wait +10 minutes to be seated, with reservation. Staff kept ignoring us. Ordered a tea and had to remind them three times about it, we got the tea +15 minutes after. The service in general was extremely slow. One of the meals was cold and not very nice.

Overpriced for food. Husband ordered the salmon starter and had to query if he had the right food as there was no salmon in sight! Ambience and view was amazing and cannot fault the staff who were amazing. Drink at the bar was astronomical prices: £22 for a pint and large white wine!! We went to breakfast at 8am both mornings and although the quality of the food was amazing, plates were cold and food was Luke warm! Standard white and brown bread and pastries from a supermarket and. I thing special that you would expect from a high end hotel! I would definitely recommend the hotel itself but definitely recommend that you eat elsewhere

The menu is very restricted (all fits in one page from starters to desserts..). But the views are among the best and the other rooms (lounge etc) are outstanding. Overall very good.

The quite restaurant was a pleasant place to view the sea from our table. Excellent service speedy service unrushed. The food was excellent and cooked as requested. We stayed after for drinks which again an excellent service. The only gripe was the chairs we sat in had food remaining and a sweet packet pushed down the sides of the chair which was a disappointment for such an amazing hotel.
