L'Optimist and Oyster Bar du The Optimist peut simplement être décrit par « quand les Hamptons rencontrent le Sud ». Cet établissement est engagé dans un approvisionnement en fruits de mer éco-responsable et les prépare de manière classique. Il ne cherche pas à réinventer la roue, simplement à rôtir parfaitement des poissons et crustacés, issus d'une « ferme », au feu de bois de noyer blanc de Géorgie. Les éléments proposés dans le menu varient, du gumbo de fruits de mer le plus authentique avec « repas-partage » à base de pain à l'ail aux rouleaux de homard du Maine, en passant par le mérou du Golfe avec oignons viadalias fumés et une sélection en constante évolution d'huîtres super fraîches des côtes Est et Ouest. L'ironie du sort veut que les propriétaires aient adapté une « cave » de vieillissement historique de la région en un espace incroyable de confort et d'évasion grâce à des inspirations de la culture surf côtière.     Great experience with great selection of dishes. My son was able to try oysters, octopus, and mussels for the first time.

    It was a special occasion and we were very excited to eat here. The fried oysters were amazing and my husband loved his seafood platter. But my meal was fair at best. The apple salad wasn't fresh (and I asked for dressing on the side which didn't happen). The lobster roll was mediocre for the price - too much bread, not enough lobster and served with chips.

    Great place to enjoy awesome seafood. My only complaint if I had one (still not a complaint), I chose the lobster over the lobster roll due to not wanting so much bread and wanting more lobster meat. My husband and our friends all ordered the lobster roll, the lobster meat in the rolls were in abundance. I could've ordered the lobster roll instead of fighting with the lobster.

    Optimist is our first choice for celebrations and special family events. We planned dinner on Friday evening to celebrate our good friend visiting from out of town. As usual, the food was exceptional—well seasoned, perfectly cooked, creatively plated, etc—but the bar service did not match. The restaurant wasn’t at full capacity, but we still had to wait nearly 15 minutes for cocktails and wine. Our server was friendly and helpful as she kept checking on our order, and when the drinks arrived, one was still missing. I recognize that some drinks take a few minutes to prepare, but if the house cocktails take so long, perhaps the menu or specific drinks should be simplified to make for more efficient service. We hope our next celebration finds the bar service back to the level of excellence provided by the kitchen and chef.

    We had an amazing anniversary dinner. They pulled out all the stops, complete with a customized menu and surprise anniversary dessert. Five stars, as always!

    Scallops and soft shell crab were wonderful, sauces complimented the seafood nicely. Our server, Derek, was attentive, and did a great job of spacing the arrival of the dishes at just the right time. Highly recommend!

    This was hands down my best experience at The Optimist. The summer menu is phenomenal! Everything was incredibly delicious. And the service was out of this world. Amanda was fantastic and made the night so special for my friend who was visiting for her birthday. She walked away saying “this place really knows how to celebrate birthdays.” Thank you for an incredible experience.

    Super Fun Date Night! 🩷 Although it took foreverrrrr to get there #HotLanta Ergh!! >>> But.. the atmosphere, service and dinner was AH Mazing! From arrival to departure everyone was so friendly and kind Thankful for time together and an awesome experience!

    Truly excellent service and food. Waitress was attentive and helpful with recommendations on food and beverage pairing. Will definitely be back.
