Lieu de restauration décontracté, situé en front de mer, sur les quais du fleuve Patchogue, l'établissement The Oar sert des steaks et des fruits de mer frais et délicieux. Les chefs préparent des spécialités comme les crevettes à la noix de coco, le T-Bone crépitant de 1 kg, les quesadillas de homard ainsi que les huîtres et les petites palourdes Bluepoint fraîches, livrées tous les jours. Les deux salles à manger sont décorées dans un style nautique traditionnel. La façade est constituée de portes-fenêtres offrant une vue sur l'eau. En été, vous pourrez profiter du coin repas extérieur du côté des quais. Vous apprécierez la vue pittoresque sur le port de plaisance toute l'année. La salle à manger située à l'arrière est élégante avec ses panneaux en acajou, ses nappes blanches et son papier peint nautique rayé bleu et blanc. Vous pourrez également organiser une occasion spéciale dans la salle de restauration séparée. This restaurant was my favorite when I was a kid. I didn’t remember the name or the location. My husband and I just accidentally fell upon it. The food is as delicious as I remember, the staff is so friendly and attentive and it’s right on the bay, so pretty!

The ambiance is lively but there are areas to be seated that are a little less lively. The food was excellent and we were not rushed. We sat at our table for a long time and enjoyed a delicious dessert. Service was a little slow, but it was memorial day weekend and the restaurant was very crowded. Our waiter did the best he could to get us our food in a timely fashion. I would recommend this restaurant for a return visit again and again. 💕

We were lucky to have a beautiful day to enjoy our lunch on the water at The Oar. The food was delicious and our server, Sara, was wonderful. We were not rushed and enjoyed a nice lunch with some delicious drinks. Great food, great service, and great ambiance--what more can you ask for? Can't wait to go back for another waterside lunch at a wonderful restaurant.

When we have been to The Oar in the past, everything has been outstanding. This visit did not reach that level. We had a 4:00 reservation. One would think menu availability would not be an issue at that time of day. First, the ingredients for a drink had run out. A dessert offering was also no longer available. When the bill arrived, it included the items requested but unavailable. The server promptly fixed the error, but that shouldn't occur. We will return, and hopefully, these issues will be resolved.
