La perle du quartier

Situé dans l'historique Tramway Building de Denver, The Nickel a ouvert en 1911, il rend hommage à l'espace qui était autrefois utilisé pour collecter les tickets des clients utilisant les tramways : un nickel. Tout comme le bâtiment dans lequel le Nickel est logé a un passé historique, les plats au menu au Nickel ont tous une histoire. Dirigé par une équipe distinguée de quatre chefs, le menu intègre des ingrédients de la plus haute qualité provenant des agriculteurs, des éleveurs, des distillateurs et des producteurs artisanaux, et se compose de plats facilement reconnaissables et simples, mais très riches. L’objectif du restaurant est de faire ressentir à tous les clients la chaleur de la familiarité de son cadre, du service amical et professionnel, au flux d'un four à bois, aux arômes réconfortants de la maison sortant de la cuisine. La pièce maîtresse du restaurant, The Barrel Bar, propose des cocktails maison en fut, au robinet.

Amazing experience celebrating Valentines evening. First rate fare and first class service. Our server, Austin, went out of his way to ensure that our dining experience was amazing and memorable. Can’t afford to eat here every night, but definitely the ideal spot to celebrate that special occasion.

We had brunch at the Nickel and the high ceilings and light from the windows created a lovely atmosphere for our dining.

Drafty table, weak drinks, slow drink delivery, appearance of wait staff not in keeping with high end restaurant. Saw an employee in the food prep area sneeze with no attempt to stifle. Food was good not great. Only saving grace was a very capable, friendly waitress. Don't think we will be back or recommend.

We arrived early before a show. We were seated immediately to a very cozy table. We had been there about a year ago and the restaurant was not nearly as inviting. They since have rearranged the space and it was very comfortable. When we got there it was quiet but by the time we were almost finished a very large party arrived and were pretty noisy, they were seated very near us. The food and service was great, everything fresh and delicious, I had the beet salad with chicken and my husband had the chicken confit, both delicious. We would likely return. It is a very convenient location for before theater dinners.

Host staff ver understanding about horrible traffic and us being late for our reservation. Wait staff exceptional service and attitudes. Looking forward to coming back.

Absolutely the best burger I have ever eaten! The pistachio salad was exceptional and the dessert was on the same level. I give the Nickel a 10/10! What a great surprise as we had not been there before.

The service and food was great. It was a cold night and the restaurant was freezing. Also while our food was great we were disappointed to find there were much fewer options than the menu on the website

We had the Airline Chicken…I have never been so impressed with a chicken dish before. Crispy skin on a large portion of perfectly prepared chicken. The cauliflower purée and roasted cauliflower were a great combo as well. My husband had the Mushroom Risotto w/the same chicken which also was a delicious pairing. Almost forgot the salads! We had each a beet and and the nickel both were fantastic and large servings. Service was great and noise level was nice. Highly recommend The Nickel for a special dinner experience
