Food was nice roast dinner, lamb, chicken and beef all very edible. Good service friendly staff. Drink prices a little high but all in all ok

We booked a table for two for my husbands Birthday, we ordered but it was nearly 50 minutes before we received our food, it was busy but seemed a little long,we pointed this out and received a complimentary bottle of wine which was very generous, the staff were super friendly the food and wine was spot on and the place is lovely, would visit again

Great hotel in a great location. Lovely beer garden and the restaurant was very inviting with a varied menus. The breakfast was also excellent.

I ate here with a friend on Sunday. We were wanting a Sunday roast with all the trimmings. That is exactly what we got. We opted for the smaller portion and that was pretty big. The beef was cooked perfectly, the Yorkshire pudding light and crispy and the vegetables just right. Even the beans were al dente. It was swimming in the most delicious gravy. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

To start on a high, staff are always super friendly. However, sadly the last few times it seems to be getting worse and worse which is a real shame as it was one of my favourite places to eat locally. After last night sadly we’ve decided we won’t be going back for the foreseeable. The main problem is from sitting down it took 1hr 20mins for a Sunday dinner, it wasn’t that busy and sadly when it did arrive it was lukewarm and only just edible. It just sadly isn’t an enjoyable experience going anymore, at first I hoped it was a one off but this seems to be everytime.

Great food, nice surrounds and a fun space to play for the little one. Staff couldn’t do enough for us and made sure allergies were catered for and we were told when we needed to come in from the beer garden in time for our lovely dinner.

Visiting with my Granddaughter for a meal I needed to bring the time forward at short notice a member of staff was very helpful in doing this our meal was lovely and all the staff were pleasant

The food was to a really high standard and tasted great. It was really good to get a selection of vegetables with the meal too rather than having to order them separately. We'll definitely be back.

Called Sunday 10th June to enquire about booking a last minute table for a group of 11 (6 Adults, 5 Children). Spoke with a guy on the phone who needed to 'check with his manager' on doing so we were told that they could not accommodate a large table. We then advised we were 3 families so if space was the issue could we please book 3 separate tables. Again, the lad checked with his manager who advised NO. We sensed that the manager was just being awkward and for some reason did not want the custom therefore, we went on to the website and booked a table ourselves and low and behold, we were all able to book tables for 2:30 - 2:45. We all arrived a slightly different times, approx 5 minutes apart. When we arrived our friends were already seated in the orangery, nobody greeted us at the door (the resturant was very quiet) however, our friends had checked the seating arrangements and advised we were sat at the table next to them in the orangery (brilliant). Our friends 2 children were asleep in their pushchair and remained asleep throughout the meal. When our other friends arrived they asked if they could be seated with us as between our 2 tables there would have been room (we a family of 4 but had a table for4 although we had 3 empty places as our baby was in the highchair and our friends had 2 as their children were asleep). The 'manager' (a girl with very short blonde hair) actually rolled her eyes at the question and said 'No, it will be too noisy'!! Making a judgement on us perdurably. This particular girl is in serious need of a customer service retaining programme. When she served our food she was rude, blunt and you could just sense that she did not want to serve us. This day in age where people cannot afford to eat out as often you would have thought you would be grateful for the custom. I can imagine a £300+ bill would be well received and if we would have been sat together we would have more than likely ordered a couple of rounds of drinks etc.
