Just around the corner from Bath's Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern combines the atmosphere of a local pub with the food quality you’d expect of a top restaurant. Two AA rosettes, and inclusions in The Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide bear testimony to the quality of both food and service. It’s no wonder it's won the Bath Gastropub of the Year title more than any competitors.

Food is essentially, though not slavishly, English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. Its food reputation is matched by their service - always friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and there's an extensive wine list and selection of local ales to choose from. The Marlborough's pub garden is arguably Bath’s finest; a walled courtyard space, that’s perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.

Delicious food at The Marlborough. Very reasonably priced food and drinks, quiet and relaxing atmosphere with very helpful and friendly staff. I would say it’s one of the best places to eat and drink in Bath.

The spiced pork tomahawk cut was tender and grilled to perfect doneness. But it lacked flavour. It could have been so much more with a bit of seasoning. The roast potatoes were delicious and done perfectly. The environment was very casual and friendly especially with all the dogs on the patio.

We stopped here for Sunday Roast as I read the reviews online and they were not wrong. Our Roast chicken was delicious, the service was great. I had desert of sticky toffee pudding wow it was amazing. If we are in Bath again we will return as I want to try the fish and chips as that looked amazing seeing that going to other tables

Excellent Sunday lunch. Our party had the fish and chips, Caesar salad (with chicken), chicken Sunday roast and beef Sunday roast. All were excellent. Prices are quite high but fairly typical for Bath. Atmosphere good as was service.

A mixed experience. The staff were struggling as they were one down and it was busy for a Thursday. Consequently slow service and we had to chase up drinks as they hadn’t arrived when we were halfway through our starter. The food was good but not up to my expectations of the MT which is by normally very good. The manager came over to us during the meal and apologised for the poor service. He also knocked some drinks off the bill which was a good move and helped retrieve the situation somewhat. Not sure we will rush back?

We had roast beef with a side of cauliflower cheese. We shared the sticky toffee for pudding. We started with Bath gem and then a glass of Gamay. The food was excellent, tasty tender beef which could have been slightly pinker. The veg were fresh and well cooked. Just had room to share the pudding which was light and with a gorgeous toffee sauce. Delicious gastropub lunch.

Lovely place and the food was amazing and dog friendly we had a really nice evening meal and then popped to the royal crescent
