When Bill and Betty Von Rutenberg opened The Mariner’s Inn in 1966, they set out to provide a steak and seafood dining experience like none other. Mouth watering, delicious steaks aged to perfection and an assortment of seafood from lobster to the famous Friday Fish Fry.
Bill and Betty’s sons, Bill, Jack, and Robert, along with their crew, now carry on the tradition of outstanding hospitality of von Rutenberg Ventures. Waterfront dining on the patio and a sunset over the marina make dinner at Mariner’s an evening to remember. We offer five options for dining. Dine-in, expanded outdoor seating, carryout, curbside, and dockside. Try our monthly summer Lobster Boil. You can now enjoy the lobster boils by dine-in or takeout! Advance reservations required.

                                                                                        Our evening out at Mariner’s was wonderful. Everyone on staff we encountered was helpful and our server Lindsay was absolutely professional and delightful. The food was delicious and the atmosphere cozy. It was a sentimental journey for us too as we used to dine there in the 1970’s with our grandparents - it did not disappoint all these years later!

                                                                                        Wonderful experience. The wait staff was a bit slow but the food and view made up for it. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!

                                                                                        Shrimp had way too much breading and was greasy. It was different breading than what I was used to. Much prefer the lighter breading.

We all got steak and shrimp- delish! Melt in your mouth tender steaks and as always great huge shrimp, mouthwatering hashbrowns and salad for me - clam chowder for husband and daughter. Also classic brandy old fashioned with Doug’s fantastic mix. We love Mariner’s inn and have for many years! Mary Saur

                                                                                        The steaks at Mariners are undeniably great, but I was a bit less than impressed by the vegetable and potato included in the dinner purchase. Without upgrading the included choices, I got very disappointing green beans (more or less of the canned variety) and shoestring potatoes. If you eat here, I would advise you to budget accordingly and pay extra for better sides. Service was great. Table next to us was unbelievably obnoxious, which is certainly not the restaurant’s fault. LOUD people, with over the top laughing. Will return, but probably not on a Saturday night.

                                                                                        Not sure if they were having staffing issues but we had a 6:30 reservation and were not seated until 7:15 (after inquiring about status). At 6:45 I had asked and was informed they were running 15-20 min late so would be soon, well 7:15 was the time. :-(. Unfortunately the server we had appeared to have been running between multiple rooms which led to sub par service. We received our food and no touch back for 20 minutes and one of the steaks was not prepared to order and food was warm at best. We tried to flag people down but that didn’t work. I have always loved Mariner’s Inn so was sadden by this experience. I scored them higher in my ratings than I should have due to my past experience. :-(

                                                                                        My wife and I stayed in Madison and read about The Mainers Inn. Our dinner was excellent and hoping to experience it again before the doors are closed in 2025.
