With our cozy ambiance, and the introduction of contemporary cuisine, the perfect setting is arranged for a first date, business engagement or simply a gathering of friend.

We have coined the term “Contemporary Interactive Cuisine” as our concept at The Living Room. We define this as an expanded twist on classic French and Italian cuisine with a distinctive Canadian touch.

We feature a selection of appetizers that also follow our philosophy of interactive cuisine. Our staff are always eager to introduce food and wine parings, as exemplified with our five course menu suprisé prepared for you by Chef Kevin Hill.

By offering a diverse range of entrees and a daily fresh sheet featuring exceptional and unique meats and seafood, we strive to maintain our status as one of Calgary’s premier restaurants.

Great atmosphere, love the warm feel cozy feel . Food was pretty good , portions were kind of small for the price though . Cocktails were great ! Service was fast , but somewhat indifferent .

The braised shortribs were excellent and the potatoes were fine. The green beans were bitter and undercooked and the Brussels sprouts were undercooked. It was a 3 course fixed price menu but they changed the dessert to something that we did not like.

My main concern when I go to a restaurant is that the food be above average and the food at The Living Room was terrific. I recommend checking it out.

Nice looking place with great ambiance. Accommodating to dietary needs. Food was delicious. Just didn’t find that you got enough cheese to accommodate the amount of side foods you got with your fondue. When you add veggies and protein, you should get more cheese than you would get with just the bread basket. But all around, a yummy meal with great service.

The value was terrible for the quality of food. The duck, while cooked nice had 0 flavour, the beef tenderloin appetizer again had very little flavour, spinach and ravioli pasta was ok, but 5 small pieces for nearly $30 puts the value quite low. Service was slow and distracted

Everything was quite good, but…and I hate to post something like this because I believe they were understaffed…service was dreadfully slow. It was 45 minutes before we were able to place our food order. The server was very polite and otherwise great - more a victim or circumstance than anything from my point of view. The food was overall very good. Only other feedback would be that we chose the LR as thought it would be less…’17th Ave on 17th Ave’. We weren’t looking for anywhere with loud(er) music. For an upscale restaurant, wouldn’t have expected the type and volume of music there. That said, I truly recognize you can’t please everyone!

Kitchen came to play tonight. Put it in the work and it was reflected in their overall performance tn. 3 stars of the game: 1st star: Lasagna found a way to battle through adversity and put there team in front. Risotto delivered on all accounts, real team player 2nd star: Beverages were moving there feet all night long and really got into their opponents heads. 3rd star: Service battled hard in the corners and ultimately put the group on top this evening.

Went here for Valentines. Was incredibly busy but service was top-notch. Waiter was very attentive and quick to notice things like finished foods and empty drinks. I sat in the atrium in -20º and wasn't cold at all! The lights and fireplace in the atrium also set a nice ambience. We got the cheddar fondue. Its lighter and creamier than the traditional gruyere + wine fondue which I prefer, but wasn't bad. The tartare was a really good appetizer though. Drinks were also really tasty, our waiter gave us good cocktail recommendations. Only complaint would be the noise levels. In the atrium, there was music playing but it was simple too loud. I felt like i had to raise my voice to talk at times. However, inside the restaurant, it was a lot quieter. I felt like it would've been more enjoyable inside there than compared to the loudness of the atrium.
