I haven't been to The Keg since my 20s, so wasn't sure what I'd think now that I'm a more sophisticated diner, and have experienced excellent NYC and Chicago steakhouses. But The Keg delivered a solid dinner experience. My NY strip came Chicago rare, as ordered. House wine & cocktails were solid. The bread was surprisingly good. Service was great.

First time at The Keg, and honestly it was one of our best restaurant experiences. The staff was lovely and the food waz fresh, warm and delicious! We will definitely be back!

We made a reservation for my daughter’s birthday. Service was incredibly slow, serving staff has no education in serving etiquette and zero wine knowledge. Drinks should not arrive after your main course. Overall it ruined the night and we will definitely never go back again. Very disappointing. They did offer free dessert which we declined. I also will note that I did tip 18% as I feel it is something someone in that position should not take the blame for. She was way out of her depth. Shame on the establishment for putting under-educated and undertrained staff in that position. There are much better restaurants in the area to spend your money at.

We love coming to the Keg but our last 3 experiences were less than satisfactory. The past two visits, the filet mignon, ordered as medium and medium rare, came well done both times and had to be remade. Our waiter last night was less than attentive and it WAS NOT busy in the restaurant. He was busy chatting to other tables or was absent completely. He also did not know that our table was assigned to him and it took over 10 minutes to even be acknowledged. The remake of the filet took well over 20 minutes (promised in 10) and with the absence of our waiter I contacted another server to check on it - it came immediately by her. A second time we had to call another server after waiting another 10 minutes for dessert, which, considering how quiet the restaurant was, seemed long. The food - a rice dish coming out of a plastic heated-in-the-microwave dish?? I saw the cook tearing open the package and putting in on my partners plate as I returned upstairs from the washroom. Really? Minute Rice? Yuck! The beans - some were dark green and not tasty. I am not sure what has happened at this location but I have heard the Quadra Street is running a better ship. It may be awhile before we return to this location. Please consider training of staff from servers to chef's to ensure service and food quality. Even the front staff seemed a bit clueless. Also, don't offer a rice dish if it is not made in-house and comes out of a plastic pouch.

The whole evening was fantastic except it's obvious whoever handles the bookings can not read. I requested 6 coloured roses for my partner as it was her 60th, I she received nothing. Just don't ask for extras is my only issue.

Great night out to celebrate a family members Birthday. Food and views were excellent and the very personable service made the experience special. Some other tables were a bit louder than expected, but that is not the fault of the team at the Keg.
