I love The Keg! Easily one of my most favourite restaurants. Tonight unfortunately was not great. First and foremost, our waiter was ignorant. He did not say hello, he did not great us in any way, he did not explain the features, nor did he ask if we were celebrating anything… this is not how I know The Keg to be. He put water on the table, did not pour it. Drinks were left empty before I had to flag him down for refills. The food was great as always, however I did notice the portions to be smaller, as is in most restaurants these days! A $300 meal should come with a smile, or at the very least a hello!!

We have been to the Keg numerous times. It is great to know there is a place you can go where the food and service is terrific every time.

We always enjoy the Keg. I tried the roasted cauliflower appetizer and was impressed. We also had the three pepper chicken wings. Delicious. The steak, prime rib and burger were consistent with all our previous visits. I like the predictability- always good. Only disappointment was the French fries. 100% sub par- avoid ordering g fries as a side. The baked potatoes or garlic mashed are a better bet. Once you devour the iconic Billy Miner Pie ( ice cream cake) you will forget about the crappy fries

Very good food and excellent service. The Keg's service can be "too good", that is, too fast. Dave did not rush us. The renovations to the Burlington location were generally well done but the lighting choices need some re-thought. Funky, modern lights can work, but only fit into the usual classy and moody decor where the bulbs are kept low voltage and are unseen by the naked eye. The nice new hanging lights have shades that start under the white bulb. And the new booth sconces are white glass over super bright bulb. I took mine out while eating. And put it back when I left. Sorry to the next diner.

Like every meal we have at the Burlington Keg, the food never disappoints! 90% of my meal choice is the 14oz prime rib, med rare off the roast. This visit was no different and it just melted in my mouth!!! My only disappointment was the size of the cut. it truly looked like an 8oz cute. But it was a great tasting meal none the less,

The Good: Greeted and seated quickly, with reservations. Seated at a quiet booth, as requested. Server was pleasant and engaged in friendly conversation. The steak (fillet) was good, though that is a baseline expectation at The Keg. The ambiance with the original but still fairly classy look. The Béarnaise sauce was very good (again, should be a baseline expectation at The Keg). An unsolicited cake at the end to help our celebratory meal was appreciated (despite it being an order in item, not made in-house). Not Great: Both guests at the table ordered the twice baked potato with dinner; however the size difference between the same item on different plates at the same table was dramatic... not just a little difference, almost twice! It would likely leave some to feel like they got ripped off compared to their dining companion (personally, I was happy with a smaller portion but I would find that likely a rare occurrence). The smaller twice baked also look like it had been severely manhandled in the back, I almost called the authorities to report the abuse. The bacon bits in the twice baked was somewhat rubbery while the insides were indeed not solid, the individual working on them clearly didn't have passion for their craft as the mashed needed a little more mashing before they were done. This left both diners at the table feeling underwhelmed by twice baked that has always been so good here. Adding to the disappointment, the salt grinder at our table appeared to only release an insignificant amount of salt on each turn - leaving me twisting for days with little satisfaction. After slyly switching the salt grinder with one from another table, it was clear, I was not destined to be smiled on by the salt gods tonight. Further noting that I typically do not add salt until closer to the end of the meal for taste reasons, only adding it because my doctor advised I increase my salt and red meat intake... alas... I could only comply with the read mead portion this meal.
