Second time at this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Wonderful menu and the food of all four diners was excellent. service was also great

A truly excellent meal. The food was outstanding...she crab soup, bison short ribs, ny strip, lamb, sticky toffee pudding and the green tomato amuse...all of it was divine and so delicious. Top notch flavor. The ambiance and design choices were less pleasing than the food, and certainly of a different taste level and quality. But the food and service more than made up for it. Our server was warm, efficient, fast and friendly. Overall we had a very lovely evening.

We were greeted with flutes of sparkling wine for our Anniversary. The She Crab Soup was out of this word, very mild and slightly different. The fancy Caesar salad did not disappoint either. Our entrees were perfect lamb chops and the fettucine Bolognese. There was nothing left on our plates, it was all delicious. For dessert, we enjoyed the Pavlova, which arrived on a plate decorated with milk chocolate "Happy Anniversary" to top off the evening. Oh, and don't miss the very approachable wine list!

Our server didn’t know what devils food cake was and she argued with me about it… We've gone here for the last 3 years for our anniversary and the food is always great but the staff is annoying. I’m not sure why the servers just aren’t up to par with other fine dining in the area. Tonight we ordered the devils food cake and it wasn’t chocolately. I’m not sure we actually got the right dessert. When I questioned the waitress she told me devils food cake isn’t very chocolatey. Devils food cake is supposed to be very decadent and chocolatey. I’m a baker.

Might be the best dining experience (all factors) in Charlottesville. Unique farm house setting. Knowledgeable and super friendly staff. Everything on the menu is exceptionally good. Even had printed “Happy Anniversary” on our menus and a special table for us. Wonderful experience.

This is a very quaint and delightful restaurant. The food and service are excellent. We celebrated our birthdays there and were so pleased at how special they treated us. We will definitely be back.

Went there with friends to celebrate our 20th anniversary. From beginning to end, it was an amazing dining experience. It started with getting the menu with a graphic of 20th Anniversary on the menu. We were pleasantly surprised and shocked! Then our waiter brought complimentary Rose Prosecco for the four of us! We couldn't believe it. We were all smiles and impressed with this kind of service. We ordered She Crab soup (fabulous), mixed green salad (v good), and the mustard-herb Lamb (fantastic). Our friends ordered the Wild Mushroom Tartlet (it was glorious and I don't really care for mushroom!), and swordfish (v. good). Our dessert was the Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake (it was to die for). Our waiter (Kyle) allowed us to taste the wine we were wondering about before ordering. Kyle was very attentive but still gave us space to enjoy the meal and company. All four of us said we have not had a dining experience like this in a very long time (and we've been to a few nice restaurants in our life).

Excellent experience. Food, service and atmosphere was terrific. Love the fact you could have a conversation without having to shout as happens in so many restaurants. Will definitely come back.

Great evening celebrating our 13th anniversary. We had mentioned this in the reservation and were treated with congratulations and a take home menu to celebrate the occasion. Perfectly romantic evening.
