Wow, what has happened to this place? Having eaten here many times and always found it a pleasant experience, I am not sure what has happened to the food. Everything we ordered was dreadful. My friend had the zucchini fries to start. It was a large portion, but inedible, due to how oily it was. I had chicken salad. How can you go wrong with that? By smothering it with so much thousand island/ marie rose dressing that you can literally only taste the dressing. When I mentioned this to the waiter, he helpfully suggested that I should have checked the menu and not ordered it, or ordered the dressing on the side. Questioning my own sanity, I checked the menu again, as I felt confident I would not have ordered anything with that pink, cloying sauce. Indeed, the dressing was described as coriander, cress and courgette. It bore no resemblance to what I was actually served, although I was assured that those extremely green and light ingredients had managed to make the pink and processed tasting cream that was coating everything. My friend then had the scallops. They were presented on a huge bed of decorative seaweed, in three shells, smothered in foam. Extremely rich and unpleasant. The manager kindly offered to change my meal (I couldn’t eat it) but as I had lost my appetite by then instead refunded it. So that was kind. But this place has always been a go-to for an easy, tasty lunch. Our whole experience was so off-putting that unfortunately it will now have to be permanently off the menu.

Service was rather slow this evening and chaotic to say the least. The croquettes were nice. The main course arrived but the fish was overdone and dry and the leaves of the chicken salad were not very fresh. We had to ask for the bill 3 times before it eventually arrived, the waitress was apologetic. I think perhaps the restaurant were understaffed and the table of 3 seated next to us for 20 mins, not being served just walked out! Service needs improving as it was better a few weeks ago when l went.

Unfortunately, the service was poor. items being removed from the table by The waitress without asking and we had to keep telling her to leave things for us to finish them! Quite an abrupt waitress ,lots of gaps in the service. Very unusual for this place as I’ve been here many times and enjoyed it but this time it wasn’t good, food wasn’t hot when it arrived to table.

The Ivy in Marylebone Lane does NOT have a toilet accessible to someone who cannot use stairs! I find that totally unacceptable and I will not be returning until they provide the essential basic amenities that one would expect to find even in a transport cafe. I did write to them and was promised a reply. i am still waiting

We had dinner here on Friday night (21st June), we've only eaten at an Ivy outlet once before, that was the St. Albans restaurant. Food was really good - I had the tomato soup, my husband had the duck salad to start; for mains, I had the artichoke tagine from the Specials menu, my husband had the fish and chips. His only observation was that the batter on his fish wasn't particularly crispy but he still enjoyed it. I had creme brulee for pudding, he had the chocolate bomb. My creme brulee wasn't particularly set but it tasted fantastic. Service was attentive and precise, water carafe taken away and refilled without either of us saying a word, extra cutlery delivered upon request. We were all done within an hour and 20 mins, which we both thought was pretty speedy, but the music was very loud and we had to shout across the table to be heard. We would recommend to others but would make reference to the volume of the music - it wasn't bad music, just too loud. Thanks for the dinner.

Service very slow. Waited 35 minutes for drinks after ordering. 2 (out of 6) meals served 5 - 10 minutes before the others. Wrong vegetables brought out.
