The Gruene Door Restaurant is located in beautiful Gruene Lake Village in New Braunfels, Texas. We are Gruene’s only casual, fine dining restaurant combining the best in food, service, and atmosphere. Every menu item is prepared 100% in house by our chefs.

Open for lunch and dinner, we are the perfect destination for a romantic dinner, birthday celebration, private party, lunch with friends, or just a casual night out.

When booking the patio, please mind the weather. If the indoor restaurant is fully booked, we may not be able to accommodate a request to move indoors.

Previous visit ordered the short ribs, They were extremely salty... too salty to eat. Thought maybe the kitchen made a mistake. On this visit, tried the short ribs again. And again, way too salty.

Piccata and curry were both excellent. Very large portion of piccata. Cocktail was mediocre. Bread pudding and coffee were a great end to the meal.

Good food, quant place just outside of New Braunfels. Very affordable and good portions for the price. Love it.

Overall this is a nice place to eat. Service was excellent. I was disappointed with my meal. I didn’t speak up because my meal was being hosted by a friend. The rest of the group food tasted delicious. We had appetizers, soups, main ,then deserts. I ordered the encrusted pork tenderloin. I was surprised that it was cut like Milanesa. Not the chunks or a whole potion I was expecting. I wish the description on the menu would have pointed the cut. I the dinner came with roasted fingerling potatoes. They were tasteless. The green beans were delicious. I will rate my meal as fair and very disappointing, especially for the price that was paid for by my host. Our waiter Robert was excellent.

If you want THE BEST filet in NB, this is your stop. No question, consistently good, every single time. Good wine selection as well. Thank me later🙌🏼

Food was fantastic. Fresh well prepared and plenty of it. They need some noise damning solutions. But well worth going.

I would recommend this restaurant with one small setback, it was quite noisy. Other than the noise it is a nice place for dinner.

We were in town for a short vacation before Thanksgiving. The restaurant is very nice and didn't feel crowded. We had the 7 oz filet and the braised short ribs. Both were very good, and the filet was cooked perfectly. It's the first time in a long time I didn't need any seasonig on a steak or potatoes. We would definitely return.

Julian was outstanding! She displayed a very hospitable personality and was very pleasant. We would highly recommend Gruene Door and plan to visit again soon! The food was excellent…. Highly recommended!
