Le Grill est situé au Forty 1°, quai du Nord. Le restaurant offre une expérience culinaire haut de gamme tout en fraîcheur. Ce havre permet un répit unique et serein de l'animation qui a lieu dans le front de mer de Newport. À un pas de la rue, on se sent toutefois dans un monde à part. Le menu propose des grillades et fruits de mer, un bar brut ainsi que légumes de saison cultivés localement. Il y a une salle à manger extérieure qui surplombe le port de Newport, qui est situé à côté du Pavilion Bar, côté quai. Le salon accueillant avec des sièges faisant face au quai crée un cadre idéal pour se détendre et discuter, un cocktail à la main. The Grill du Forty 1 ° Nord est ouvert au public.

You pay for the view, not the food. Paying $72 for a ribeye, I would have expected it to come out somewhat warm. Not room temperature as was delivered to me….

Filet was ok not as buttery as in past. The French fries and mushroom was over salted.

Beautiful place and location but the food is just ok. Especially for a premium steak house. My steak was well done when I ordered it medium and my husbands was rare when he ordered medium rare. The creamed spinach was horrific and the mashed potatoes maybe could have been boxed. We also saw a mouse run across the dining room. The cocktails were excellent. Dessert options were kind of disappointing. We had requested outdoor seating in our reservation which they said was no problem then sat us by an open door and gave some very weird reason why we couldn’t sit outside that didn’t make any sense.

We happened to eat at the Grill 3 times in the 5 days we were in Newport. Twice for dinner and once for breakfast. The outdoor seating by the water is amazing. The view of the sailboats and yachts adds to the experience. The staff was incredible. Our server on our last night might have been the best one we’ve ever had anywhere. He was friendly, polite and extremely attentive to our table, making sure we were enjoying everything and checking to see if we needed anything. The manager came over a few times and when we mentioned to our server that we had been there multiple times, the manager came over and thanked us and took a few items off the bill as a thank you. They even brought us a few chocolates and macarons after our deserts. The food was excellent. From the tuna carpaccio, the wedge salad and bread service to the spaghettini with clams and the filet, our meals did not disappoint. The crème brûlée and the key lime pie were incredible. We will absolutely be going back to the Grill when we come back to Newport. We just loved it!!

Overall the food was good but imprecise. We ordered a drink with twist of orange; limes we brought. We ordered a steak medium; it came out medium rare. Our server never asked nor realized the mistakes. Seems like a lack of experience in the front of the house. Overall it wasn’t bad but if you want things to come the way you order them, good luck.

I found it unacceptable that we were seated next to a party of 15 when there are plenty of tables available in the room we couldn’t hear each other and we were a part of sitting closely together. The host should’ve seen us somewhere else . Hard to remember how delicious the food was when your evening was spoiled by intrusions at a 10 star dining room .

Drinks took 38 minutes after we ordered and arrived lukewarm. Server told us the bartender cut his finger- ok… Food and drinks came at the same time. The filet was ok. The duck fat fries were basic French fries. The smoked lentils were amazing. The server tried but honestly? It wasn’t that busy and the food is completely overpriced for what was delivered. Go somewhere else. Even after waiting that long for drinks, they didn’t comp the round of cocktails (which they should have). Signed, someone who opened fine dining restaurants for 11 years.

Nice place and well located. Dined at a sir down table at the waters edge. Food was very good but not great… I had the 8 oz. prime fillet; spouse had the Rigatoni with braised beef ragu. My only complaint is the restaurant likes to nickel dime their patrons ($10 for table bread) … my filet came with nothing ( no veggie, no potato, nada!!!) so I was “forced” to order a side for the table (mushrooms) … the sides are generous size but who wants to eat mushrooms with pasta? I suggest they offer half size sides if they want to continue the nickel dime business or maybe add at least one vegetable with any entree meat order.

Fantastic meal with the best view in Newport. We drink at bar first and bartender was pleasant and fast. Greeters were happy to seat us where we wanted by railing in shade. Food was outstanding. Have seen some negative comments about cost, and yes it is a pricey menu. But, understand you are paying a premium for the views, the ambiance and upscale service.
