Thomas Makris, de l'île de Skopelos, est tombé amoureux lorsqu'il a rencontré Helen Babalos. Ils se sont rencontrés au Orestes Greek restaurant en 1974, lors d'une tournée de danse grecque en Amérique du Nord. Peu de temps après leur mariage, ils ont eu une vision d'ouvrir un lieu hors du commun à Vancouver; un restaurant grec où tout le monde fait partie de la famille; où tout le monde fait l'expérience d'une délicieuse cuisine maison et d'un service impeccable. En 1984, ils ont ouvert Anatoli Souvlaki dans le nord de Vancouver. En 2011, leurs fils Alexi et Iani ont repris le restaurant et au début de l'année 2015, ils ont élargi le rêve de départ de leurs parents, dans une nouvelle entreprise avec leur cousin Daniel Bergman, Alexi et Iani ont ouvert « The Greek by Anatoli » à Yaletown. « The Greek by Anatoli » se concentre sur les petits plats à partager ou « mezze ». This was my first time here and the lunch food was great! Souvlaki was tender and great flavor as well as the meatballs, waitress was fun and took care of us. Baclava desert was dry, we didn't finish it but the rest of the food was worth it.

Had a wonderful experience at The Greek. Took a friend for her birthday and she loved it! It was an unexpected surprise to see that they still had the Dine Out menu available which was great considering the items we were going to order anyway where already featured. The portions where HUGE and so filling and extremely flavorful. The servers were great and attentive, and we appreciate Katie for taking care of a couple of birthday drinks! Great spot in Yaletown to grab drinks and bites and catch up. Would recommend!!

Great dining experience had a fun vibe. Not quite romantic inside, we loved the fun louder inside music. Great food, highly recommend the Sangria!

First time going for dinner, had the calamari (awesome) and souvlaki platter with chicken and prawn skewers. Portions were good and the platter tasted fine just wasn't my favorite. Should've tried the lamb instead! Good sized space and servers were very friendly, not so loud that you couldn't hear the other folks are your table.

The experience overall was good. Food was solid. Our server was lovely.However for a Sunday night with an early reso for family function, a bar top of 3 came part way through that were your stereotypical yaletown female diners. ( too much 'work' done, loud as F and vapid in conversation skills. Kind of took away from the experience with their overbearing conversation, octave and swearing constantly that drowned out the room. There were a lot of other families there too with younger pre teens. Unfortunate. Also. Please buy large cube ice for cocktails that require them rather than chip ice. Thx
