The Fox est un resto-pub gastronomique primé situé dans le pittoresque Willian près de Letchworth, au nord Hertfordshire. On y trouve un grand bar servant une large sélection de bières, surtout locales, y compris leurs propres bières Brancaster Brewery et une partie de la liste qui change régulièrement. Le lieu possède une salle à manger élégante, mais détendue dans cet espace moderne qui sert une abondance de produits saisonniers et locaux sur le menu, une carte des vins accessible ainsi qu'un menu varié. Lorsque la température le permet, il y a une terrasse et un grand jardin pour mieux en profiter. Avec tous ces avantages, il est un pub de village idéal. On propose même des soirées thématiques histoire de s'amuser un peu. The Fox a été reconnu et a remporté de nombreux prix. Il a récemment été nommé dans les 50 meilleurs restaurants gastronomiques au Royaume-Uni et a obtenu le titre prestigieux de "Dining Pub Hertfordshire de l'année 2011", par le Good Pub Guide. Il y a toujours de l'action à The Fox et un accueil chaleureux!

The food deserves to be 5 star, this is due to mouthwatering flavours. Well cooked and service was excellent

Go here quite often. The service was good and usually is. So thanks for this. But our server left half way through serving us, must have left at 10pm, don’t think it’s good that your server leaves his shift half way through serving his table(s). However, the food was a little disappointing. Both of us had steaks. Have to say mine wasn’t all that. Had a rare one, but I think the quality of it didn’t support a rare steak. Was rather tough. Chips were not all that either. Like a good fluffy inner and crispy outer, they were not. Overall the food was ok. Service was good, albeit change in the server and the ambience was good. Will be back and hope the food is better next time.

We've been to The Fox before. Not for a few years but still a lovely pub to come for dinner. We came on the 15th Feb to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. Service was very good. Birthday card and little dessert treat to wish a happy birthday a nice touch. Only noticeable thing for me was portion sizes. £12 for a starter that contains one small slither of duck and 3 pieces of beetroot was not what I call value for money. It was good but not gastro pub good. I also felt disappointed again with main course. £32 for 3 small slices of lamb. With veg an added extra. Staff were very good all night and food was nice. Very expensive for what you get.

A rare opportunity for my partner and I to dine out in Valentine’s was quite frankly ruined by one of the worst meals we have ever had. We have eaten here before and it’s been lovely but this time it was poor at best. We were in the restaurant for less than 45 mins in total, had the worst steak both of us had ever had in a restaurant, zero alcohol and paid over £100 for the privilege. We didn’t want to cause a scene at the restaurant and ruin the night for the other couples so we left quietly and contacted the Fox on our way home, we have had zero response from them adding further insult to the matter. We have never made a complaint about any restaurant before but with the price and the lack of quality of the food, we simply can’t let this one slide. Extremely disappointed and quite angry at the whole experience!

The place is lovely we could chat and enjoy each others company.. staff informed and polite . Food fresh and wonderful.. Perfect lunch even the vegetable sides had be lavished with love.. the dessert could be adjusted as required.. Seasonal fruit crumble with crème anglaise..

We had to return two sirloin steak meals as the meat was so tough we were unable to cut it or chew it, we had rib eye steak as a replacement & that was ok, the waitress was very apologetic & apologised but the whole evening was spoilt as it was our daughter’s birthday & her meal was ok so she continued eating on her own.

Excellent food. Starter came very quickly. However Saturday lunchtime & very busy. After starter had to wait 1/2 an hour for main course. Excellent staff.
